WAN Issue

Whenever I wire my connection to my router via WAN slot, it indicates that I am indeed "Wired" and that my NAT type is "Open". But when I click "Test Multiplayer Connection", it never completes and sometimes says it can't find the DHCP server. This was also
a problem that occurred on my 360. I'm skeptical to think that there is a problem with my router hardware-wise, but there's probably a software issue that I don't know about that I may need to tweak?

If anyone knows what's going on, I'd appreciate the help. Thanks!

New SaskTel Fusion Wireless Internet Problems

WAN Information: (LTE WAN)

- Mode: IP

- IP Address: 10.32.xxx.xxx

WAN 2 Information: (LTE WAN 2)

- Mode: IP

- IP Address: 0.0.0.0

 

Keep getting Disconnected when im watching netflix and playing games.

Would you be able to disable WAN Blocking in your router's settings? This may solve the issue on this particular router.

 

WAN port is where you are suppose to plug in your Modem. WAN is Wide Area Network (internet) and LAN is Local Area Network (your house)

 

Hmm, but there's usually nothing plugged into the WAN port. Also, I used to plug it into my 360 through the WAN port and it worked well until it started giving me the issue it does now on my One as well. Does the NAT type not depend on whether it's WAN or
LAN? I thought you're able to play with more people if you go through a WAN connection then a LAN connection? My NAT type is moderate when I'm under LAN and I want to be at open.

 

No, a router is just a device that is used to create a LAN network. What router do you have? Is it a router/modem combo unit that was provided to you by the ISP?

 

I see, I have a wireless router. I'm not sure if we were given a combo unit or not as I didn't handle the internet plan, but probably not.

 

What brand and model is the router?

 

Verizon FiOS. Not sure what model, I'll have to double check that.
