Scalpers wouldnt be able to ask 900 dollars if consoles were in short supply.walmart said more will be online for midnight blackfriday (preordered months sgo for blackfriday)

Scalpeling has been around sinc ethe 80s I paid 400 bucks for my first snes console because of the short supply and it was stolen but we were a poor family

Sony and ms both said the shortages are going to last for a long tjme april at least for xbox and sold out for ps5 and the more popular the item and out of stock the higher the scalpeing price 1500 atm with some as high as 10 grand

went to walmart yesterday and they had both in stock. glad to see they are in stock and people cant price gouge on ebay.

Walmart will face no fines shpuld they choose to price gouge game consoles. Such laws currently, sadly, only apply to life essentials.

Walmart like Massin and others host 3rd party sellers, and such ads are generated by algorithm. WM is likely required to charge base price by their contracts with Microsoft, but no legal entity will enforce this

If you wish the law changed, petition your representatives.

Future price gouging? This price model for mmos has been around a very long time. I paid 14.99/month for swg and wow way back when they launched and paid 60 for the software. I'm surprised the price hasn't went up. Micro transactions in f2play mmos is where
the price gouging is.
