Walmart 2 Year Protection Plan

You were actually given wrong advice. Microsoft only covers their own warranty or if there are any added plans through them. They don't cover plans you buy at other retailers. So you would have to go through Walmart. https://www.walmart.com/protection

well on square trades website. with the 3 year protection plan for a gaming console ranging from $400-500. its $69.99 and with accident protection is $104.99. so itll technically be an additional 2 years with the Microsoft factory warranty.

I thought about the Best Buy protection plan but it was like $40 and only for 2 years. I've had my previous Xbox controller for more than 2 years and it's not even Elite, it's just a regular controller so I though it was not worth it. If it was 5-year
protection, then it would've made sense to me.

I did. It covers the system for three years total. The description on the warranty plan itself is incorrect.

Found 2 things on Square trade that will keep me from considering it

1. Coverage starts when you buy the item. So with it coming with a one year manufacturers warranty you really only get 2 years.

The value of your Protection Plan is in most cases equal to the purchase price of your item. Each time you file a valid claim, and we provide repair, the total value of your coverage is reduced by the cost of the repairs.

If you file another valid claim with us on the same item, and repairs are estimated to cost more than the remaining value of your Protection Plan, the remaining value of your Protection Plan will be offered instead.
