Wake on Lan (WOL) over the Internet (Xbox one)

Starting the one via the app is no problem, but I think it would be more important for one/10 users to have the ability to start their xboxes from wherever they are. I can play my games on my Laptop using the streaming ability (over the internet), but I
have to set my xbox on "permanently on" (I know - they call it differently in the settings). WOL is an ethernet call and so it is a real problem doing it over the internet - I tried EVERYTHING!!! ... Port 7 - 9 open and port forwarding to my XBOX / VPN / ...
-> it did not work. I think there should be an easy possibility for the gamers (no idea how you do it ... maybe if you give the one an VPN server and let the people log into it or whatever - "local" wol call), but I think THAT is really the future for the
Xbox One. Play your games wherever you are.

I don't regret buying a one it gets better and better!!

How to configure wake on lan

Hi,

I am trying to turn my xbox on over the network (Wake on LAN). There is alot of talk about this, but i havent found a good post on how to configure the xbox one to work with this properly. I test it using this CLI tool: arcreative/xbox-on

It seems to work when the xbox is sleep mode after it has been on shortly before. When the xbox has been in sleep mode for a longer period of time the tool is not working anymore.

Can you assist me in how i should configure the xbox one so wake on lan works all the time?

Online multiplayer

Spo0nMePlz, Halo 2 was the first Halo to have Online Multiplayer over Xbox LIVE.

Halo had LAN and splitscreen multiplayer, and using some software on our computers wich were connected to the xbox ( I dont recall the name ) we were able to simulate LAN games over the internet and play ONLINE.

 

actually i cant get any other device (than something MS/smartglass) on the same network to wake the Xbox One up

same here tried it all, found this treat.

I've made an Windows 10 Universal App called XOON that does exactly what you are asking for. Yo'll have to configure some port forwarding rules in your home router, and make sure that your console uses the cable connection (all these configuration requirements
are listed in the help section of the app). You can download the app from Windows Store.

On my Side, the App on windows 10 nor on Android device can not wake-up the console

 

Maybe you try setting your Router on DMZ (Xbox Slot) ... just to check, if the problem has to do with your port forwarding.

 

You can also use XBoot One app both on Windows and android to turn it on remotely.
