Wait what ? achievements for using Youtube ?

I thumbed a video up and DING I got a achievement, so I looked and sure enough there is a whole list of them to earn. Are we in such need of validation these days that we need to be rewarded for using a simple thing like this ? Not really an achievement

If that was the case then just remove the achievements, they're worthless anyways. They should've done whatever they could to rebuild customer trust.

You get achievements for watching hulu, Netflix and numerous other apps as well.

 

Yep. No points. You could almost say that it's "pointless!" ;P

I don't mind the gamification of entertainment apps. Some people will go out of their way to get all its achievements and some will not.

You're on the latter and that's fine.
