Volume up/down voice commands don't work with Sony STR-DN1080 receiver

I have a Sony STR-DN1080 receiver and want to control the volume with my Xbox One S. I'm able to control the power and mute/unmute the receiver, but volume up and down do not work. This happens with both the classic Xbox commands and Cortana, and with different volume
    increment settings.

Under Settings > TV & OneGuide > Device control > Audio receiver, I cannot find the exact model of my receiver, so I went through the "guide me" setup. It goes through several codes, and only one of them partially works - it displays the receiver's volume
information overlay on the screen, but it doesn't actually increase it.

I did notice that I need to press the volume button on the remote twice to increase it one step - once to bring the volume overlay up on the screen, then subsequent presses actually increase the volume. Perhaps the IR blaster needs to be configured to send
    the commands twice or something?

Anyone else have any luck setting up the STR-DN1080? Or have the remote code for the receiver? I've also tried selecting similar Sony models in the Xbox and nothing's worked so far.

    Thanks!

    :)

    Audio Receiver Issues

Using an older Panasonic receiver (saht40). The Xbox does not turn it on or off. I set everything up in proper fashion. Tv and cable box work. Strange thing is the volume and mute works using voice commands, but doesn't turn off or on with voice commands.
Properly set up, but no go on the voice start up and shut down. Please help.

Control Pioneer AV Receiver with Kinect

I have a Pioneer VSX522 receiver. When setting it up through the XBOX, it sends a volume up command that works. It then sends a Mute command that also works. Once the setup is complete, volume up and down do not work. It shows on the TV that it is doing
it but the receiver does not respond as it did during setup. Mute works as does the power on/off with the XBOX. Anyone have any suggestions on how to get the volume up and down working?

Volume up/down voice commands don't work with Sony STR-DN1080 receiver

did you ever get a resolution on this? I have the same receiver. It worked perfectly with my Xbox One (original) but it isn’t working with my new One X. Exact same issue as you - receiver not listed and only one in the “guide me” test actually does anything.

    Microsoft, please help.

    Xbox On?

Sometimes works for me and sometimes doesn't. In general I've found the commands to be very flaky and inconsistent, even with calibrating it. The only one that really works without any issue is the "volume up and down" voice command.

Kinect not controlling volume or power on Insignia Receiver

I checked my Xbox One today and it's all working now - I can control volume up/down with both the smartglass app and with the voice commands.

How to add additional A/V receiver models to the list? (Sony STRDA1800ES)

I have the same issue with my Sony AVR (STRDH540). However, for simple on/off, mute and volume up/down commands, I don't think Sony has changed their remote command in ages. Just choose the model number closest to yours and you'd probably be fine.
