Volume is muted when turning Xbox on (Kinect configured)

My volume is muted when I turn on my Xbox (Kinect is configured to my Sony blue ray player and tv options) in order for me to hear volume I have to manually turn the volume up with my remote or tell my Kinect to volume up and then it becomes I muted. It's
somewhat a nuisance. Ideas?

How to Get Xbox One to Turn TV Off with Voice Command

Does anyone here know how I can get my Xbox One to turn my TV off with the voice command? Its already connected to my TV as I can mute the volume, turn up the volume. But when I say Xbox Turn Off TV or Television, it doesn't do anything.

Need help setting up Sony surround sound with Xbox One

I have a Sony receiver (STRDA5300ES) and the Xbox One controls the receiver just fine. On/off, volume, and mute all work. It turns the tv on/off also, but does not control tv when I say volume up or mute. I put the receiver model in when I did the initial set up. Not sure how it assumes I use that for the volume and not the tv. Only thing I can think is somehow the IR port on your receiver is obstructed.

Just to make sure I got this right your xbox is auto muting your TV when it comes on? Then when you change the volume it becomes un-muted?

Here is what I would think would be the cause possibly. Go to "Settings > Display & Sound > Volume >Chat mixer" and make sure "Do nothing" is selected. That is pretty much the only xbox related setting I can think of that would affect your TV's volume so
much.

I'm going to bump this thread. I'm in the preview program and up until NXOE my kinect worked fine with my Sony receiver and controlled volume and muting fine. Now, it will only mute and unmute my receiver but not make the volume go up or down at all unless
I go through setup and send the command when "finding" my receiver. I have gone through every possible option/configuration/troubleshooting solution and have not been able to fix the problem.

I want to bring this back from the dead. I have a samsung hw-f450za, and an LG TV. Xbone elite is able to control my satellite receiver and tv no issues. Everything is connected via HDMI. I tend to use my xbox media remote to control tv, volume, etc.
i have to hit the volume, mute buttons twice to change it. problem is of course, when turning the console on and off, tv turns off, sat box turns off, but soundbar doesnt. also, through kinect commands, i have to say commands for volume and mute twice in
quick succession.

any fixes for this?

When I turn the volume up during kinect calibration, it tells me to turn the volume down.

Yeah I hope they update it, so when each time you say Xbox it should lower the volume down or mute it, that way it be easier and kinect will hear are commands better.
