    Volume in devices is greyed out and no sound through my headphones


    I have just purchased a set of Turtle Beach headphones and when i have connected them to my wireless controller, no sound is coming through. I went into settings/kinect & devices/devices & accessories and found the Volume was greyed out.

    i have checked my headphones are working on other devices so the issue definitely lies with my settings.

    Any advice welcome!

  2. Xbox One S Controller 3.5mm Headphone Jack, No sound whatsoever

    So i recently bought an Xbox One S, and for the life of me, I can't get any sound to come out of the One S controller through the headphone jack. I've tried all the settings in audio, devices, the controller itself and the volume controls which show up in
    the settings tab when you plug a headset into the controllers headphone jack. I've heard that you can get chat and game sound through it, but I can't even hear myself through the mic monitoring slider or in an Xbox Live party. I bought a chat headset today
    and the Xbox picks up on the mic so that works (Also tried with my computer's headphone port and it works), but no sound is outputted through the headphone port, not even with just standard stereo headphones with no mic. Any suggestions?

    Controller Issue

    We have 2 XBox's and 3 controllers, all of the controllers appear the same, however both sets of headphones only appear to work with 1 of the controllers. While investigating I went into settings on
    the XBox and went to "Kinect and devices" then onto "devices and accesories"... when the headphones are plugged into the controller they work with there is a "volume" option that you can put up and down. When you have the headphones plugged into the other
    2 controllers the volume option is greyed out.

    Any ideas?? We have 2 sons with a set of headphones each which only work on one of the controllers!

    What type of headset is being used? Such as model for the brand types, like Afterglow, Turtle beach, etc. Also is it a stereo headset or a chat headset?

    Try changing the batteries in the controller, and if that does not work then try another controller with that headset.

    Hello Harun,

    We understand that you're experiencing audio issues with a Turtle Beach headset on your Xbox One console.

    Our suggestion here, if this has occurred with more than one controller it might be best to ensure that this is not due to the auxiliary cable of the headset wearing out, that the space within the audio jack in the controller is clean of dust and other obstacles,
    and as a last resort in case this may come down to software that a soft factory reset be performed:

    Reset and keep my games & apps. You should use this option as your primary choice when troubleshooting. It will reset the OS and delete all potentially corrupted data without deleting your games or
    apps. This will save you from downloading or reinstalling the large game files.

    Note: This will remove profiles, so be sure to keep all information for signing into any/all accounts.

    Confirm this and if the headset is still not operating properly, it may need to be replaced.

    Let us know the results!
