    Volume controls please

When streaming or in a party while on my pc I want to have volume controls for the app. If I am listening to music and in a party, the party chat is super loud and I cant control it to turn it down. Yeah, I can open up the volume mixer to raise/lower my
music, but the app goes up with the main volume. The app is not in the volume mixer by itself. It is a simple feature which would be really nice to have. Another idea is to have the party like Discord, where I can control the volume of each person individually.
Hopefully none of this stuff is too advanced and someone will start working on it. To me it seems like a basic feature that should be included already.

    :)

  2. Volume control - help please!

So, I picked up an XBOX One about two weeks ago after being a LONG TIME Windows Media Center guy.

I'm not really much of a gamer, and when I finally cut the cord to cable (pay) tv, I figured it was also an excuse to get something new for a streaming media device/media center. Don't get me wrong, the ability to play games and other apps is appealing
too. But, after 2-3 weeks with it, I'm rather unimpressed on a number of features that seem missing and discovering this isn't going to be a worthy replacement for my beloved Media Center PC unless I can figure out some hacks or tweaks.

The main thing that is bothering me is that there is no native volume control. It can send an IR signal to a device that has an IR input, but a lot of receivers don't have this functionality and I don't want to deal with using IR blasters and all that garbage.
Frankly, IR was outdated 15 years ago. Anyways, the fact that there is no native volume makes it that I have to resort to such thing.

Only problem is the amp I'm planning to use (a NuForce DDA-120 integrated DAC/Amp) has all sort of modern inputs (digital coax, TOSLINK/optical audio, RCA, and USB), but unfortunately no IR input. So... I'm wondering if there is a way to send the volume
control signal that is coming from the XBOX (by way of Media remote) to the amp via USB? Is such a thing possible???

I really don't want to have another remote laying on my coffee table. I'm already upset that my wireless keyboard is mostly useless in XBOX land, and I have to alternate between my media remote and the XBOX controller.

Any ideas or help, or good articles on how others have gotten around this greatly appreciated!

No., I'm trying to send volume command from the X-Box to my receiver. IR Blaster is bull#$it in 2015!!! Really??? Why are we using IR for anything?

Answer: Because device manufacturers are cheap.

Really disappointed that the XBOX One uses IR for media remote. And, they expect to win in the living room experience with XBOX? C'mon.

This particular receiver doesn't have an IR in. So, I have NO way to control my volume with a singular remote!?!?!?! Very dissapointed. Basically, Microsoft only cares about being a game console and has no interest in really being the center piece as
    a living room media console.

And, since Microsoft ended support for Media Center, I'm really struggling to find a viable solution. I guess I'll be going with PLEX or KODI or something.

WHY DOESN'T XBOX just have NATIVE VOLUME like a PC!?!?!?!?

    Hey GrayDrop634995!

Apologies for the delayed response! If you are wishing to send volume control signals to your Xbox One console, it will need to be via Kinect 2.0 or an IR blaster. There isn't a way to control volume through USB.

Here is more information on what you will need to
control volume through the Xbox One console
    .

Hope that clears up any questions you have! :)

    XB1 Stereo Adapter Volume Control

I use turtle beach headphones with the adapter. What I do is turn chat volume up with adapter, then I use the volume control on the cable connecting headset to controller to control chat volume while controlling game volume with volume control on the headset.
