Voice recognition is crap on all devices

XO voice is rubish, i got it setup right had it since launch and its never reeally worked properly. vr on my galaxy s4 is crap, on tv is rubbish. what do u think?

EA Delays Mass Effect 3 Demo Till Feb 14th

Bioware are using the voice recognition system inside Kinect, which is why Mass Effect 3 is not using a headset for it on the 360 and the feature is missing entirely in the PC and PS3 versions.

Essentially they haven't had to write their own voice recognition because Kinect does all the work.

 

Just unplug the Kinect and disable it on your phone if you don't like it, It's there if you want to use it but it is certainly not forcing you (Well compared to launch month for the console.)

 

I think you need you need to learn to speak. My Kinect works nearly flawless.

 

Telling him to disable it is not an answer, but to say its rubbish is not a good claim either, its more of a claim its not perfect, so to all of those who say its flawless, why do they claim to still be improving kinect voice

 

its Hit or miss with me. Sometimes I think my Xbox is trolling me.

 

said it once.. say it again.. re calibrate the kinect.. set TV louder than normal when doing so... Summer is coming... make sure fans/ACs are turned on when doing calibrating.... and learn to speak in a clear voice... yelling at the kinect will not work...
using slang will not work.. speaking gibberish and not pronouncing words correctly will not work...

I have yet to have a problem with my Kinect... unless it is my fault giving the wrong command .. IE Saying XBOX WATCH TV when it is already "Listening" when it is in listen mode... only options are what are highlighted green...

 

^^ good post. Just a little extra time taken to calibrate properly and I RARELY ever have a problem with it. Also do it more than once. I calibrate every few weeks because I dont mind helping MS improve thier product making my experience better. I live in
the US but I can see voice commands being a problem overseas. Help them help you

Kinect was hit or miss for me that I just unplugged it and it was calibrated properly.

 

Works bang on for me. I cannot offer any advice on a remedy for your issue though nut as I said, never had a problem. Even the new One guide works a treat.

 

Yep ,THB is right..You need to crank your volume to the point it tells you its too loud then dial it down a couple notches and calibrate it ..

It really does work well after that..It responds to the whole family

 

as I did mention.... Summer is coming fast... (90* in NYC the other day).. I suggest you recalibrate it soon...especially with air Conditioners... open windows fans all making more background noise...

 

works fine for me. also i have a galaxy note 3 and it works fine as well. Maybe you should (and I don't mean it as an insult) talk more clear and precise? remember devices aren't people and have to be talked to different. Also knowing the right commands.
For instance i head about the UFC demo. I turned on my xbox using xbox on (worked the first time when i got home) said "xbox bing U-F-C) and it came up right away.
