    Voice Messaging and Speech-To-Text?


    So I searched the forums for voice message, and the last thread I saw tagged with XBox One was in February... so where is the voice message option when messaging a friend? For the life of me I cannot find it.

    Also, what is the command to get the XBox One to type out your message (speech-to-text). I've gotten really accustomed to Cortana on my windows phone typing out everything I speak, so I think I'm safe in assuming the XBox One can do that as well?

    I just got mine on Wednesday, so I feel a little dumb asking these questions here, but I just cant find these options on the console.

    Voice Messaging is a No Brainer.

    Why would you pay money for "Skype" if you could use voice messaging and video messaging?

    What happened to the dashboard? What went wrong? Why everything is so DAMM HARD in Xbox One?

    Skype now? No. Did you not own an xbox 360? Voice messaging is a key feature. Skype can't replace the function of voice messaging.

    Oh... I can't help but feel a little bit of "Seriously?". The voice message is standard on the 360 so I thought I was just missing something.... but oh well. Thanks for the info and I will be sure to go vote!

    Game Transcription

    Hi Fatale !

    On Xbox One

    1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide, then select System > Settings > Ease of Access > Game transcription.
    2. To transcribe other players' voices into text, select Speech-to-text on.
    3. To have your chat text read aloud to other players, select Text-to-speech on. To choose the voice that other players will hear when your chat text is read aloud, select one of the available voices in the Text-to-speech voice menu.
    4. To have games read aloud certain words that appear on the screen, select Let games read to me.
    On Windows 10

    1. Open the Xbox app and go to Settings > General > Game chat transcription.
    2. To transcribe other players' voices into text, select Speech-to-text on.
    3. To have your chat text read aloud to other players, select Text-to-speech on.
    4. To choose the voice that other players will hear when your chat text is read aloud, select one of the available voices in the Text-to-speech voice menu.

    I don't know if you've already tried this but if you haven't here you go and hope this helps:

    Using game transcription on Xbox One
