Voice messages

All I want is to be able to send a voice mail instead of typing why hasn't this been fixed.

Xbox One OS/UI features you still miss in the monthly updates

Voice Messages. How this has slipped through the cracks is beyond me. I have a Kinect right in front of me. Sending voice messages would save a shit ton of time when messaging.

 

Any word on a May update?

Because it's a lame feature that many people don't want.

 

If they do bring it....I want the option of completely turning it off. Don't want to send voice messages, don't want to recieve them. Period.

 

Voice messaging isnt lame. Only a fraction of those who play on console hang out onthis forum so microsot/yous may not know how popular this xbox feature is.

 

Voice messages are fun for about 5 seconds. Then you've got that one friend who ONLY messages you via voice messages, and you have to sit and listen to them drone on when you could have just read what they said in 5 seconds or less. It grows tiresome.

Its purpose when you need emphasis or comedic effect is undeniable, but outside of that, you're not missing much (I'm saying this as a PS4 owner).

I hardly ever used voice messages, if I wanted to speak to my friends I would send out a text message on my phone, or just write out a Xbox text message. When I think of voice messages, I imagine receiving messages from youngsters
asking for a rap battle, hate messages or being invited to do a glitch. I do hope the people who want voice messages get it, but I hope there is a option to disable it so I don't receive voice messages.

 

How about voice-to-text for a happy medium? I would rather send a voice message, but prefer to receive texts. In any case, I believe option are always a good thing.

Ever since the 360 had it, 95% of the time that's all my regular friends used was voice messaging. Much quicker and easier to use.

 

D33dles has the right of it; it's faster to send a voice message, but faster to receive a text message. I personally miss voice messages because I practiced jokes and impersonations I would often send to my friends to get them to laugh and smile. I can't
do that on the XB1...

 

If they add it to xbox one without the option to disable it, would be like removing the SPAM filter from my email....this would make me very angry with Microsoft.

 

IF voice messages comeback, I am all for it, so long as it can be turned off. This was the absolute most annoying feature on 360.

 

Voice Messaging is most likely possible at least between other Xbox 1 consoles and since all Xbox 1 consoles have the same audio codec hardware and since M knows how to write code/software. While older peps may not want it I'm sure younger peps do. Most
of my friends exchange voice messages between each other. And it is an XBOX feature and Xbox 1 IS an Xbox console. I might pay that feedback site a visit.

 

It is a love and hate with voice messages, It was funny to receive rage messages when you compleatly owned someone back in the Halo 3 days BUT really annoying when you get a message from a friend who really has a monotone voice and makes you fall asleep.

I myself wouldn't be too fussed. I barely send messages on Xbox since everyone on my friends list I have their number so just text them via phone since for me it is much quicker and easier.
