    Voice interface with Xbox One since latest update


    Since the new update for the console came out, when I use my kinect to voice command my console, I can no longer see what I am selecting. Then green voice prompt is all I can see, so I can't see what Item 1 is. I now have to say "stop listening", in order
    to see what the selections are. Is there an option to fix that, or do you plan on releasing an update to address the issue?

    For example:

    I want to start a party, so I say "Xbox start a party"

    Then I say "Invite to party"

    Now, because of the way the interface is setup post update, I can't see who Item 1 and so is. If I want to see the selections, I have to say "stop listening" and then either use my controller on from that point, or go through it all again know that I had
    an opportunity to see who item 1 or so on is.

    The latest update

    The lates update was, in my opinion, not very good. The interface takes longer to navigate (yes I've know how to use the functions I usually use; like party, friends, messages, game hub and so on) and it seems like there are more steps to do what I did before.

    Apart from that the voice control has gone completely down the drain, I tried to say "Xbox select" like I've done hundreds of times before and the console thought I said either "Xbox sign out" or "Xbox send a message" even when I articulated "Xbox select"
    I got those two (or it didn't do anything since it was already at the sign out or message.

    I don't mind updates that fixes problems or make a smarter interface but this update caused problems and made a worse interface

    Xbox On Voice Command

    Ever since the latest update the xbox on voice command barely works.

    Its a miracle if it doesn.

    Anyone else have this issue and know how to fix it?

    Netflix update is terrible

    I agree, I bought a Xbox One so i could use the new features on a newer, cleaner system. NOT to use the same crap interface from the 360.

    All gesture controls are gone for me, anything I do, Voice or controller, is delayed by seconds. The one before this update was great, fast to respond to voice and super easy to navigate. this update has taken it all the way back to the stone age. Very uncool.

    If you want voice commands for the One I think you'll need the Kinect. I'm not 100% sure, but I think it does do a little of the voice recognition work on it's own. I'm sure it would be possible for them to add support for voice commands without it from
    the headset, but since there is no first party wireless headset means the controller is already in your hands. So I don't think there is a lot of demand especially since the console interface has been updated to work better with the Kinectless Xbox One setups
    using the controller only.

    Short of it is unless you plan on playing games that use the motion tracking or want a camera for Skype or Twitch you really don't need it. I do like it though for automatically signing in, gesture support for the home screen, and voice for videos pause,
    play, and volume control without the controller.

    This issue must be related to the Harmony Remote (or any IR remote?). If I use voice commands, the Xbox One sends them with out problem. But if I use the Harmony, the onscreen display from the Xbox One shows the button I pressed, but doesn't send the command.
    This is very strange, definitely a bug in the latest update of Xbox One.

    I don't think this is an STB issue, since all of the DirecTv boxes use the same IR commands.

    I couldnt agree more with the voice commands! I can get to the friends menu but cant expand the menu, also cant invite friends to party anymore by voice.

    Kind of sucks! Hopefully they look into this in the future.
