Voice commands with external mic?

I am going to be picking up my Xbox One up tomorrow! I plan on buying the version without the Kinect because I feel that I wont need it for most of my use. However, I was always interested about the voice commands. Could I use the voice commands through
an external microphone? If not, does Microsoft ever plan on having that feature in the future? Would you think this is a good idea?

At least your's works mine won't do anything with regards to voice commands weird thing is the voice commands in Fifa work fine

Get the Kinect bundled you won't regret it.

 

Nope, the voice command system requires the Kinect. The reason being that the Kinect has a load of fancy gizmos that do noise cancellation etc.

Basically if you want to use the voice commands, get the Kinect bundle, you won't regret it.

It's like saying I want to play Kinect Sports Rivals with only the controller, or being in an XBL video chat on Xbox 360 without a Kinect. INVEST in the KINECT version. Its awesome! Voice commands, QR code scanning, voice chat, Skype XBL video chat, games,
log on your console with Kinect. You're missing out if you don't and we all know how that.... feels.... "I'm not really into Kinect, I want to save $100, darn... I wish I had brought Kinect...."

 

A microphone is merely a way to transmit your voice to someplace else. The Kinect has a built in processor, so it takes your voice and deciphers what it is you are saying.

To answer your question, no, you cannot do any voice commands with anything other than a Kinect.

 

People blow my mind. "I don't want kinect. But I want to use kinect features. How do I do this?"

Some people don't want a big camera sat on/next to their TV. I can't have one because my mum doesn't want one on view. Saying "people are stupid" is just ignorant.

 

Just paint it the same colour as the wall or wallpaper it. Your mum will never notice.

Voice Commands is a Kinect Feature. Invest in Kinect, I got the Xbox 1 Day 1 Edition, it's worth it. These are the things you can do with Kinect, it isn't just play 1 or 2 games with it: (1) certain games including Zoo Tycoon and Kinect Sports Rivals have
Kinect Features (2) scans QR Xbox code without having to enter the code (3) sign in with it (4) voice commands (5) video chat on your console with friends using the Kinect and Skpye app (6) use it for voice chat on your console, or you may break or lose the
mic because I get this with some of my friends on Xbox 360.

The Kinect isn't that big. I got an HDTV mount for my Kinect and it fits safely and securely ontop of my HDTV even though I got a slim 1080p Sony KDL40EX720 LED HDTV.

 

So let me see if I understand this.....

The people who would rather spend 15 bucks for a noise canceling mic are stupid, the people who paid 150 bucks for a Kinect are smart? Interesting logic.
