Voice Commands will not control TV or Audio Receiver anymore

Since the most recent update, my Kinect/Xbox no longer control my TV or Audio Receiver

I have a Samsung UN50f6300 and a Pioneer VSX45 - I've removed both of them from my devices and added them back, I've gone to the TV troubleshooting and reset my TV settings, and that didn't work

I hard reset my xbox, unplugged it from the wall, unplugged the kinect from my xbox and plugged it back in, tried going through the TV setup again, and nothing will allow me to control my TV or Receiver, none of the commands work (volume/xbox on/off, etc)

I put my phone camera on my Kinect to make sure the lights were coming on from the IR, and everything lit up fine.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Can I connect Xbox One directly to a sound bar?

I have a Vizio soundbar connected to my TV. I ran the Audio Receiver Setup on the Xbox One and now the X1 powers on/off the soundbar along with my entire TV/DVR system.

As for volume control, if you've ran the Audio Receiver Setup then you can control the Soundbar via either voice commands or the Xbox One Smartglass App (the volume controls on Smartglass will no longer control the TV volume, however, as they'll become dedicated
to the soundbar--I presume the same may be me true for voice commands).

 

OTA SOLUTION REVEALED

On only get the option to enter remote code for my TV and my audio receiver. I don't get an option to enter a remote code for cable box.the HW 150 is plugged into the Xbox One, and the Xbox one plugs into my receiver the receiver goes out to the TV. picture
works fine I just can't control the TV with Xbox voice command.

To clarify, Is the issue that you're having that when you say a command such as "Hey Cortana, Volume Up" and the volume is no longer turning up? Or something else such as the console is seeing the command, but nothing is happening.

Are you using Cortana on the console or are you only using the standard "Xbox" commands right now.

Just replying so I'm able to follow this post as I've the same problem. Except I have to say Xbox. (Cortana isn't out where I live) I do get the command popping up in the corner. But nothing happens. All other commands I've tried work

 

I am having a similar issue since the latest update. Hopefully my information can help track this down.

My TV is responding correctly to the Toggle controls on Start up and Shut down. I too have a Samsung. Model UN48D7000LF.

My audio receiver is not correctly toggling. I also have a Pioneer system. The SX-X360. However, when the whole system is on, my voice directions work some of the times. Everytime it states in the popup box "Turning down the volume..." but it doesn't do
the work everytime but often enough. The audio receiver does not correctly get sent the toggle on/off anymore upon Start Up and Shut down (sleep mode or restart).

The update should be rolled out to everyone at this point. Can you check for a console update and let us know if that fixes the issue for you?

Here's how to check for updates.

1. Scroll left from Home to open the guide.
2. Select Settings.
3. Select All Settings.
4. Select System.
5. Select Console info & updates.
6. Select Update Console.

Are you in the Xbox One Preview Program? If so, you're going to want to post about this on the Preview Program Forums and submit feedback on the console so the teams will be able to take a closer look.

Also are other Kinect commands like "Xbox, Go to Achievements" or "Xbox, Off" working properly?

We're still needing to pinpoint the issue exactly. Can you try to use the commands without the A/V receiver connected and using the commands with the TV instead? The idea is to see if the Kinect is able to communicate to other devices still.

Posting as well to follow here. I have the One S with a kinect plugged in. It toggles my soundbar and controls volume fine but won't control my Samsung TV (model # UN65HU8700FXZA) at all. At first before I got the kinect adapter I thought the IR blaster
on the One S was being blocked in my cabinet but it was controlling the soundbar right under the TV fine as well as not working on the TV without obstructions. Now I have the kinect plugged in and I'm not sure which part is sending the IR commands, the front
of the console or the kinect, but it's still not working.

If the Kinect is plugged in, it should be taking over the IR Blasting. Are you able to try and resetup the function? Try using this code to use with your TV.
