Voice Commands since Update

So, turned on as normal and all was fine and saw there had been an update.

All seems to be fine bar voice commands, since the update not all of them work anymore!

For example "Xbox Turn Off" works and goes to the 'Yes/No' screen however it doesn't recognise either of the 'Yes' or 'No' commands any more! If I want to choose either I have to use a gesture or the controller.

Both these commands worked fine before the update and I haven't suddenly developed an odd accent that it cannot understand!! Any reason why it's now being so picky?!!

Anniversary update broke the Netflix voice commands

The Netflix voice commands are not working in Netflix since the update. Voice works everywhere else. This isn't the first time an update has done this to Netflix on my system. Is anyone using voice successfully in Netflix since the update?

 

Skyrim, Kinect Compatible? Pointless Advertising?

On the xbox marketplace it says "harness the power of the Thu'um and other voice commands." My guess is other voice commands can be used with followers. I don't think it'll be an update though however. Since I've heard nothing about the PS3 getting voice
commands. I don't think they'll make two different updates, but it'll probably be a dlc.

 

I am having the same issue since the update. "Xbox turn off" works, but then gets stuck at the "yes/no" dialog. I end up having to turn on my controller to turn off the xbox.

 

Mine has always been that way from day one. I was hoping the update would cure that. My "Xbox On" also doesn`t work and never has. There have been lots of post about this, but nothing seems to have been done. I also have recalibrated over and over, no help.

 

What's annoying to me is that the voice commands always worked for be and I was lucky enough not to have suffered as some had. I don't know why this update has removed the ability for me to say 'Yes' or 'No'!!

 

I had problems with my voice commands since the update. I did a power cycle and it fixed the issues.

Hold down the power button until the xbox powers down. Wait 30 seconds and turn it back on.

Yez I am having the same problem. Xbox please fix. This machine has given me headaches since day one. Please fix!

 

Same problem. Few things to note in case MS is reading this...

- The system hears you saying "yes" or "no" since the ring around the mic in the upper right hand corner lights up with you speak.

- A hard reboot fixes this but only for a little while. If the console is running or just sleeping, the problem eventually comes back.

 

Those with new Kinect issues after update a soft reset
in most cases fixes this. Press and hold power button for 5-10 seconds until it shuts down. Wait 30 seconds, then press power button on console to turn back on. Wait for longer boot up. Hopefully these new issues for you have been resolved.

The update however has done nothing to help the "Xbox on" issue.

 

"xbox on" works for me, but nothing else does. even just saying "xbox", i don't get the 'listening' popup in the top right, either. I'll have to give the hard reset (hold for 10 seconds to shutdown, wait, power up), and see if that works.

 

Same here! Aaaaghh Microsoft why are you doing this to us?!?!?!?

 

I've seen improvement with "xbox on" if I say it like an overly happy kid at Christmas. If I use my normal voice with an even tone and inflection that drops lower like one does at the end of a sentence, it almost never works. If, however, I sound absolutely
ecstatic to be trying to turn on the system, and let my voice rise at the end of the command, it almost always works.

And absolute wtf moment.

 

Add me to the list. Screen goes black from AC4 and from Live Tv occasionally after the update. Also, starts black when I have tried the "Xbox On" command. That command never worked before, now that it does periodically it goes to black screen. Also, "Xbox
turn Off" which worked flawlessly from day one is now not reading the "Yes" prompt after telling it to turn off. So basically they fixed one minor annoying feature sorta (Xbox On) and ruined the stability and other perfectly functioning commands.... ARGH

 

Update results. All my voice commands worked before with the exception of "Xbox pause" when amazon streaming is on really load, after the update they still all work perfectly, including "Xbox on" and "Xbox turn off - Yes". My brother has the same results
on his XB1. It is hard to understand, How can identical XB1s have different results from the same update? Logically, either all XB1s are not the same, or the update is not the same.
