Voice commands are finally enabled in Ireland and New Zealand

It's about time. Changing regions was a pain before because you had to switch back to buy something. All you have to change now is the language and not the region. You have to choose US English or UK English, but they are still polishing it. UK English only
worked so-so for me, but when I changed it to US it worked nearly 100% of the time. I actually love the feature.

Now when I say Xbox record that or what ever you say, does it only record the last 30 seconds?

^^You are an American living in Ireland right? You can switch your region to US and voila voice commands enabled.

 

How to get "Xbox on" to work?

There is no way to turn on voice commands in Ireland? I guess I might understand if you had to seperately enable then to sorta "agree that it might not understand your accent". I've heard it's the same for New Zealand and possibly Australia?

Can any fe. germans confirm whether they have english voice commands working?

 

Not quite for NZ. It's Thursday 11:22 pm I'm suppose to be in bed.

Maybe in the August Update. I don't go for Beta testing. I even checked Settings System, no updates available. I've just changed my locale to Australia (I'm a bad boy my console thinks I'm Australian ). And voice commands IS there. Last time I did this
was in January. I need to calibrate my Kinect again. I'll do it tomorrow as I've tried it and said my HDTV's speakers are too quiet. I don't want to get into trouble from my folks or neighbours for turning up my volume so will try it tomorrow which is a Friday.

Sorry New Zealanders. I've on my Xbox 1 RIGHT NOW (as I'm posting this) and voice commands isn't out. Maybe if you have a Beta Dashboard update for August or something. I only download the proper full updates when my Dashboard tells me to.

 

When Voice Commands officially are available on Xbox 1 for NZ, I will create a new thread of it on this forum. I'm pretty much one of few New Zealanders who is kind of a frequenter on here, right? I know, too many American's on here. They need to hear a
New Zealander. I'll post a thread of it when it comes out for my Dashboard. And no... having it on the Australia locale setting doesn't count

 

^^ My home screen says Ireland, Austria and New Zealand. It says you will have to change to Aussie English for now, but they are refining it still.

 

I like how my locale is Australia but my Time zone is UTC+12:00 Auckland, Wellington. I thought the moment I changed my locale setting, that it would automatically change the time as well (to be 9:41 pm instead of 11:41 pm). kk enough of the excuses M. Just
because NZ only has a population of roughly 4.5 million is no reason to keep it from us. Even UK/Aussie accents can be tricky for software. K I'm turning off everything and going to zzzzzz.

 

brandi when you say Xbox Record That it only records the last 30 seconds. However you can say xbox snap Game DVR and the select up to the last 5 minutes to be captured

I think I'm going to keep my console on Australia locale until it's officially out for NZ locale. My Xbox 1 console ALWAYS gets it right when I say "Xbox Home". One of my NZ's friends friend said to me in an Xbox Live Party tonight am I British? Mind you
many peps think Australians and NZ'rs sound British. When I said "Xbox Friends" it opened up the Bing page. I encourage all NZ'rs to try out the Australian locale setting more. I even get the Network 10 or some TV apps which are reserved for Australians.

Probably why several NZ'rs want to move to Australia. Better wages and more content on Xbox including more apps.

I can. Good think the Xbox 1 is not region locked. I'll wait until the August Update officially gets released.

 

Since this update Kinect now recognises my U's and I's, It was very annoying I couldn't goto UTV or and ITV channels no matter how I pronounced them, it didn't work ever, not one time.. then after the update works every time... was thinking was to do with
the new Ireland voice commands, although I havn't changed any location settings.
