    Voice Command for turning on Xbox One isn't working


    I've noticed lately that the voice command for turning on the Xbox One isn't working now. Even my settings are set to work that feature, but it's seriously not working.

    "Xbox On" and remote controls

    It seems that turning off the Xbox One with an IR remote is the same as powering it off on the faceplate, and it keeps "Xbox On" from working as a voice command. Does it work that way for everyone else?

    Xbox On Command Doesn't Work

    I have the exact same problem. Everything was working fine. Turning on and off using voice commands. No changes made to settings. My xbox froze when I tried to shut it off using the controller. I powered off and back on. it was on the same frozen screen.
    I had to unplug the xbox for it to go away. Ever since then the xbox on command does not work. All other voice commands appear to be working. Come on xbox lets get this stuff taken care of....A fix please!!

    ive had that recently too. ive gotten it to work once, and thats all. tried pretty much everything, and cant figure it out.

    Try recalibrating your Kinect. Also be sure you have the latest system update.

    Hi, sometimes a power cycle can fix this, with the xbox powered on press and hold the power button on the xbox for 10 seconds and the xbox will power off, power on again using the power button on the xbox as the voice commands will not work the first time
    you power up.

    Power the xbox off again and try the Xbox On command again.

    Hi there try this unplug the kinect go to settings then go to disc & blu-ray setting then go to clear persistant storage then hard reset. Then after that leave the Kinect out switch on the console let it load in then once loaded go to settings Kinect once
    you have done that plug back in the Kinect wait a few mins this should if there is one download the latest Kinect drivers then recalibrate the Kinect making sure your audio is load but not to load as it will fail otherwise if this do's not work you will have
    to wait as MS now about this.

    Turning off voice commands completely

    Voice commands will only work if you have a kinect or a headset. Cortana has to be turned on first before you use her voice commands, and if you do not have a kinect, then the Xbox voice commands will not be turned on.

    I'm in the US, and mine has yet to turn on by voice command. All other voice commands work really well. I can't figure out if I've set it up wrong. There is a discussion of a difference between 'standby' and off. However my power settings only have off,
    off after a certain time, or never off. On the right there is an option for quick start (which I have enabled). Is off + quick start enabled = standby mode? If so mine isn't working. It never shuts down unless I say xbox turn off. Then it shuts everything
    down (tv, receiver, and direcTV). That's all good, but then it won't come back on with voice command. Why isn't there a "xbox standby' command that shuts it all down, but will allow it to wake up with voice commands?

    Any clarification is appreciated.
