Voice chat being weird

Me and my friend are playing but for some reason he cant hear me unless he turns on his speakers and he can hear jis game through his headphones but not me, does anyone know how to help?

If you haven't already, I would recommend checking Troubleshoot audio problems in parties on Xbox | Xbox Support support page to see if you can identify the issue.

The only party issue I have is with Battlefield 4. You can't turn on voice chat while already in the game. Kinda weird.

adaptor is being made for sound but voice chat might not be available

That's weird mate... if anything the new voice chat (for both me and my friends) picks up more of what's going on with other people... I could even hear my mates wife eating crisps on the other side of the room!

I take it the people you're talking to are using the official headsets and not Kinect for their voice chat?
