Vizio sound bar xbox one support.

Ive been trying to get my xbox one to work right connected to the hdmi input on my vizio sound bar through the hdmi arc all night. Tell me why my bluray player will play blurays through my sound bar but my xbox one x wont?

I have the vizio S4251W-B4 5.1 sound bar hooked up straight to the xbox one using digital optical audio cable. Volume up and down command works for me. This sound bar supports DTS.

What about the blu ray app only working when the xbox is plugged directly to the tv tho

that dose sound like its the Disney app. They might have it turned of to help with the amount of people watching it , because of the lock down 🤔

It may be an issue with disney.

Aren't they currently throttling bandwidth so atmos and 5.1 isn't available?

Have you checked the following settings....

To adjust your settings, press the Xbox button  to open the guide. Select System > Settings > General > Volume
& audio output. Under Speaker audio, you can adjust the following settings:
HDMI audio - Keep this set at Stereo uncompressed unless your HDMI cable is plugged into a receiver that can process 5.1 or 7.1 uncompressed signals or bitstream formats.
If your receiver works with these formats, select whichever one best matches your system.
Optical audio - If you don't have an optical (S/PDIF) cable plugged into an audio receiver, don't worry about this setting. If you do, choose a setting that works with your sound system.
Bitstream format – Once you’ve set HDMI audio or optical audio to Bitstream out, you can select one of these formats. These formats are typically used with compatible
audio receivers or optical headphones. Formats labeled “HDMI only” will turn off optical audio.
