Viva Pinata Multiplayer servers down or damaged?

My friends and I come back to Viva Pinata TiP at least once a year as it is one of our favorite games from childhood. Last year we were made aware that the games mail service no longer functioned, which while sad was ok as the game was still otherwise fully playable. Things have changed this year and no one seems to know why or what is wrong. When we try to play coop now the game freezes and kicks the other players after a few moments at seemingly random intervals. Occasionally after hours of trying we get a good load in and the other player is able join and play as normal, so we now to some extent it still CAN work. It just does not work consistently anymore. The game also just has some random freezing even in single player that it did not used to. Reinstalling the game and even swapping over to xbone copies of the game does not change this issue, it still freezes and kicks the other player after a few moments. Can anyone involved at Microsoft give us an answer as to why our favorite game doesn't work anymore? We buy Xbox Live Gold just to play this game even.
