Visual aids for non hearing impaired players

I’m not going to name any names, most of you will probably know exactly what I’m talking about anyway, but recently a game (not Xbox specific) has added a setting to turn on visual affects for people that are hearing impaired. A lot of people without impairments
are using the setting to see where footsteps and such are, even though they’re already wearing a headset that allows them to hear the footsteps, to give them a competitive advantage. I’ll be honest, I did try it for a day or two, but I turned it back off as
I felt like it was taking advantage of the game trying to be more accessible to all players and almost like cheating.

So what are your thoughts? Do you think that it’s fine to use without having any hearing impairments because it’s just an in-game setting, or do you feel the same way I do?

I think something like this would be an amazing idea if it could be implemented to include separate games. What you should do though is send this as a suggestion to the feedback page. Perhaps they can get something like that up

Can't really say I think it's good that they've maked something for hearing impairment but it will always have people that will abuse it that's just how people work sadly but I'm sure if every one uses it then it may not be a problem it'll become something
like a skill on the game. But maybe that's me just looking on the bright side of things

It's a game feature. If all the gamers can use it, then it's not cheating deciding to use it. You may not want to use it, and that's right.

But some others may want to, and we have to accept that.

No, it is verbal descriptions of action on the screen. Not a text description of the dialouge and sound. It is for visual impairment not hearing impairment.

Deaf, huh? I'm hearing-impaired & have to wear hearing aids to be able to hear it... Still, a picture's worth a thousand words. So, what's that make a video? Worth a thousand pictures?
