Visiting Microsoft Store pages recently started freezing controller on XBX

Yesterday I went to browse a game's page in the Store and my controller no longer worked in the Store and I was forced to restart the console. I couldn't do anything once it entered the Store? The controller works fine on everything else, but now when entering the Store, there is no response to controller input and I have to restart the console. Sometimes it even turns off the controller. Any ideas on what's going on and how to fix it. Batteries are fine. EDIT to add that this even happens when I try to go to one of the 'sales' pages, and I lose all control, so not sure if that even qualifies as being in the Store.
