Visceral's Battlefield 5 is police-themed

It will be launching this year if the rumor is correct. I believe this will be the first Battlefield game not being developed by DICE:

E3 2014 June 10-12 what games do you wanna see come out this year?

I would like to see the differences between minecraft xbox 360 and xbox one.

Also a new battlefield (hopefully Vietnam themed or police themed).

A "Police Themed" Battlefield, it does sound interesting but I'd be surprised if it releases in 2014?

 

I should have known Id get beat to the punch by you Lofty. This sounds very intriguing. Hopefully Visceral does a better job than Dice.

Yeah 2014 seems a bit soon to me. Anything with Battlefield in its title really needs to hold off on fast releases after what happened to BF4. Though I do like the idea of police themed battlefield. Has me thinking about die hard.

Dont lie Campsite900. You said you werent getting the COD maps because you had to buy The Little Mermaid.

BF wants to cash in on the success of COD. The sad thing is even with a two year development cycle the games are always buggy as hell upon release

I totally agree. I played the BF4 beta and that put me off the game completely. I want something with a fair bit of character and depth. A good friend said to me the other night that if modern day online FPS was stripped of all helicopters, special kill
streaks and a realistic kill system then it would do as well any other game. I have to agree with that. Basics are just overlooked so much now.



I just hope this police theme is true. It has me intrigued.

 

They can't even make BF4 work properly and then they are going to release a new BF this year haha no thanks. BF4 was and is still a mess. Bring on Titanfall next month then Destiny at the end of the year.

I'm only picking it up if it runs at 1080p/60fps ;-p

I'd love to see a online game now, no vehicles, no kill streaks, I'd buy it for sure. I think my problem is these days I prefer a good old co-op game, much rather this type of game than the endless "Player Vs Player" games, to me they all just blend into one
another now, nothing that I've played stands out from anything before in my opinion.

Like you said, getting back to basics could be just the ticket.

 

Seems EA definitly follows Activision path....Get ready for a Battlfield every year,one to try to beat COD,the other one to try to steal The Division hype'.....

And gamers could be the winners......

 

i highly doubt EA would take the Battlefield series from DICE. i find it hard to believe that anyone but DICE would develop the next Battlefield. if true, the switch in developers is more surprising than whatever potential theme.

 

I will not be purchasing another BF until they released another Bad Company Game.

 

thats ok. after buying BF4, i can safely say i'll never purchase another BF game
