Viruses and unknown people

I had similar,I found a hard reset fixed the issue ,it was just a glitch im sure as another ambassador said

Not if it's directly from xbox. At least, I don't think you can block those messages.

Most likely it's just a glitch since there was an update to the messaging system today. It's not possible to get a virus on the console.

I went ahead and removed your image since it had their gamertag and the code they sent you. These are public forums so anyone can take those.

I'm sorry I can't say if it's a Virus or not, but I would suggest redeeming it on the xbox website before someone else redeems the code, lol. I'd assume that if it is a virus it would probably be made to function on Xbox rather than on a mobile phone or
something.

The message itself does look identical to the normal message you receive when gifted a game, so the extra added to your friend's Gt could be something leftover from a script error. I am unsure though

Ask your friend if he did send you a gift copy of the game. If he did, then I would assume it's safe to download.

I highly doubt that there is anything that could be done to your Xbox or a PC by using the code on the official XBox site or in your XBox itself. If you are unsure, navigate to the store in your XBox and select "Use a code". This will take you to the
code redemption screen and you can enter the code from your picture. Hopefully no one has taken your code and used it already. I would recommend not showing the full code when you post in any forum.
