    Virtually unable to download anything.

First and foremost, the problem is NOT on my end. All my other devices can maintain a connection to the internet and can download things just fine.

Yet, for some reason, my Xbox is incapable of downloading anything past 3% completion. And that's on a good day. And that's until it resets and goes back to 0%.

It should not take 3 days of trying to download a couple gig worth of games. I've tested my connection, it's fine. I just can't download a thing.

If I'm going to pay $60 for a service, I'd kinda like it to work.

    :)

    Hi there Atrain,.

You must check a couple of things regarding the list of issues that you mention.

You cant make purchases probably because your billing information is not setted.

    * For this you need to sign in on Xbox.com and go to My Account, then select "Billing and payment", then go to Billing information, select this option and update the options...

*Do a multiplayer network test on the Network menú to check your NAT and your DMZ. If you have NAT problems surely you are going to have some problems to talk with your Friends on Xbox.com

    Regards !

Okay my xbox one has great connection I always play but lately I've been having problems like my mike won't work and I plug it in then take it out and it still says its in and no one can hear me talk but I can hear them perfectly and this is with the mike
that it came with. Second is that I got a $15 card put it in and says I have it but when I try to download anything. At first it was saying to buy this tomorrow and I would even wait TWO!!! DAYS!!! just to wait then yesterday I couldn't enter my account so
I thought xbox might be updating something and I patiently waited till the next day today I am now trying to download something and it says SOMETHING WENT WRONG and to take it to xbox.com/errorhelp to investigate and they give me a code at the bottom when
I enter the CODE it says that I have either typed it in wrong or its very specific. MY QUESTION IS DOES ANYONE ELSE HAVE THIS PROBLEM. Because I want to be able to talk to my friends again in a party and buy stuff on Xbox one so they better get their stuff
fixed if they want me to buy stuff from them to make money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Virtually unable to download anything.

Try deleting any partial files (under the Storage Device>Games it will either be under the game's name or 'Unknown Content') then clear your cache (support.xbox.com/.../clear-system-cache)
and restart the console and try the downloads again.

I did that and I was then able to download the most recent GTAV update (~35MB) in half an hour.

But, when I tried to download The Wolf Among Us ep. 2 (~650MB) it got to 1% and didn't progress past that in 20+ minutes. And bigger files like The Raven part 3 (~3gig) don't progress at all.

So it appears that only small files are downloadable, and at speeds much slower than on any other device in my house. And my laptop and phone can download files faster on a wireless connection than my 360 can with a wired connection. I can't even connect
to Xbox Live period without using a wired connection, while my laptop and phone connect to wifi in seconds every single time.

In short, there is something very wrong with my 360 that I have never experienced before.

  7. Hey, zoidberg1339! This is sounding like a network problem that might turn into a hardware issue. Regardless if other devices connect up in your house, your Xbox is a different beast when it comes to internet connections. And since you are unable to connect
with a wired connection, we definitely want to look at that side of things. Because of this, I moved this thread to our Connecting forums.

Please post back your internet provider, and your router and modem manufacturer and model numbers. We'll want to troubleshoot why you aren't able to connect up wired and check out if there is some wireless interference that we need to address. Additionally,
I'd appreciate it if you would connect up the Xbox wired, test the connection, and post back the error you get when you do that.

We'll work on getting this resolved! Virtually unable to download anything. :D

    Virtually unable to download anything.

    Quinzel, you misread my post.

I CAN connect with a WIRED connection, just not with a WIRELESS connection. However, that is not the problem I want addressed at this time.

The primary issue is the fact that I can't seem to download any files larger than 50MB. That's the problem I want fixed. I can go on the Marketplace, view and message friends, pretty much everything other than download files. For the most part, my Live is
working okay, other than sporadic connection drops. I've long since gotten used to a sub-par experience in that regard.

I have been trying to download a number of games for over a week now. Can we fix that problem first?

Okay, so this is the sort of nonsense that I'm dealing with.

Downloading Banjo Kazooie (48MB) and it gets to 17% completion in about 12 minutes, which is pretty lousy to begin with. Not to mention that it took DAYS to even get it into my download queue after that ridiculous Banjo Bundle debacle. But it gets better.

...by which I mean it goes BACK TO 8 PERCENT, stays that way for 5 minutes, then jumps back ahead to 16%. It sat at 16% for 5 minutes, and then I unceremoniously lost my Live connection. No error message, not even so much as a "*** you. Next time you should
buy a Playstation". Although it might as well have said that.

In all my years, I have never seen download progress go BACKWARDS. I've seen some absurd, inexcusable problems in my 9 1/2 years as an XBL subscriber, but this takes the cake, no contest. So you'll have to excuse me for losing my temper.

Look, I'll take the time to give you all the pertinent information IF I can get some sort of assurance that I can get this issue resolved this weekend. Not in another week. Because if it's going to take that long, you might as well refund me for the $45
worth of games I can't download, so I can put it towards a PS4 instead of a Xbox One like I was planning.

I've got to say, this whole thing is making me feel like a complete moron for being loyal to the Xbox brand for 12 years. My patience is just about gone.

Furthermore, there is another Xbox 360 in the house, on the same network that is having ZERO problems. Connects to Xbox Live, downloads files, the works. So how could this possibly be a network issue? I just don't see it.

Okay, I finally got an actual error message.

I booted up Assassin's Creed: Revelations and was prompted to download 12MB of updates. It took 15 minutes to do so, but it appeared to be successful.

...but then I'm told the download failed, despite the progress bar completely filling.

    Status Code:

    4174 - 0000 - D080 - 0200 - 8007 - 2EE2

    What does that mean?

  12. Excuse my mistake, I totally misread that you were ABLE to connect wired as being unable. That was my bad.

This also further confirms my suspicions that we are running into wireless interference. The
80072EE2 error shows up when the Xbox is unable to get the full packets from the connection that it is looking for (this error will appear even on a wired connection). If you do not
want to give me the network information, you can do the steps on the error code page without me knowing that, but I would love to know what you have to help you out better.

I would also like to have your network information because not all network devices work the same, and not all can support multiple Xboxes in the house. We have a very nice list of
Networking Hardware Information, and I'd like to be able to check if we have any known issues with yours. The symptoms are seeming way more like wireless interference, though. If you could,
with your network information, please post up what is between your Xbox and the router; mirrors, fish tanks (yes, seriously), bathrooms, kitchens, floors, and distance all factor in and is equally important in this.

I apologize for not getting back to you sooner. Hopefully we can get this sorted out quickly for you so that you can get that stuff downloaded. Virtually unable to download anything. :)

    Virtually unable to download anything.

So wireless interference could be affecting a wired connection? Even to the point where I can't stay connected to Live? Wow.

I'm at work right now, but I'll get you the information when I get home, so in about 8 hours. I can tell you right now that the Xbox with the problems is pretty far away from the router, which is in a closet that's nearly on the opposite end of the house.
There's at least 3-4 walls in the way, including a bathroom. The Xbox that's working fine only has one wall in the way.

Does it really make a difference when I'm using a wired connection? Shouldn't that bypass any problems caused by wireless interference or walls?

So my ISP is Century Link, my router is a Netgear N750 WNDR 4300, and my modem is a Netgear ADSL2.

  15. Thanks so much for that information, zoidberg! What's likely causing the wired issue is that you have multiple Xboxes in the house. The wireless issue is most likely the distance.

That Netgear router is pretty awesome. I have a WNDR3400 myself and I love it. The modem you have is a gateway, though, which is both a modem and router in one. The reason why I say that having multiple Xboxes in the house may cause this is because if you don't
have that gateway set up to have the router part shut off, it can create NAT issues with multiple Xbox consoles. One will act fine because it's getting all the traffic routed to it properly, and is taking priority over the other one. It's a quite common issue,
but if your gateway is set up in bridge mode (or IP passthrough, which both shut off the wireless portion), then the WNDR4300 can do its job and get the internet traffic routing properly to both consoles.

Do you happen to know the modem/gateway's model number? Those generally start with a C or D, or might simply be 7550 or 6200. Additionally, do you know if CenturyLink has set that device up to passthrough straight to your router?

We can do all this troubleshooting wired (which I would prefer) to see if we can get this working. If you would like to do this wireless, I suggest moving the console to where the closer console is just to remove all that interference. One wall will add essentially
5 feet to the distance of a wireless signal. Three or four walls add up to an extra 20 ft of wireless distance, and that bathroom could be causing even more issues. The (sometimes) metal pipes and the mirror both, respectively, absorb and reflect the wireless
signal. If you have any ceramic tiles in your bathroom, too, that will make things a little difficult.

Sorry for the long post, but I wanted to get you as much information as we can. This is mostly information. The main part that I need to know is the Netgear ADSL2+'s model number and if you know if CenturyLink has set it in "bridge mode". Virtually unable to download anything. :)
