Virtual agent said i'm out of warranty?

Thanks for reaching out to the forums. We see you have an issue with your controller. We recommend requesting a call from support. Here is a guide to get you to this.

When you go to Contact Us,follow these steps to request a call from support:

• Step 1 ----click on Contact us
  
• Step 2 ----under what you having trouble with select Subscriptions & billing
  
• Step 3-----under what is the issue I can't redeem a code then hit next
  
  Step 4 ----scroll down to select request a call
  

Once they call explain the issue and they will be able to help you. Note that these options regularly change so just keep selecting something that gives request a call from support as a contact option.

Yes, I went to the support section and was connected to the virtual support agent. The virtual agent had me enter in the controller’s serial number and confirmed that it was out of warranty and my only option is to purchase a new controller.

Hello again, you have to choose the virtual agent, after going through a virtual agent will be attended by a person who will transfer you to another department who can help you with your warranty request.

I managed to request a call back using the Virtual Agent - https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/contact/virtual-agent/?flowId=smc-contactus&partnerId=smc

Type in Talk to an Agent, select Xbox as the product and then select Hardware as your issue. This allowed me to request a call back.

Speaking with the agent, he said that any replacement controller carries the same warranty as the original, so if it had 6 months left it would still have 6 months left.

Thanks for the reply. I chatted with the Virtual Agent, however upon entering the serial number for my controller, I was told it is out of warranty. However, on my devices information, it says the controller is under warranty until 10/04/2022.
