    Virgin cable box not turning on - V+ Box HD (CISCO 4585DVB?)


    V+ Box HD (CISCO 4585DVB?)
    Xbox One does not turn cable box on. Everything else appears to work correctly and will turn off.

    I've tuned it automatically & used what I believe is the actual model entered manually. Each give a differet remote code. However the manual Cisco code appears to work better.

    Advice?

    However, neither turn the box on

    Hey Dunners,

    Do you have a Kinect or IR extension cable, as one or both is required to control your STB and TV.

    From using the UEISupport.com site, it appears that the following codesets may work to control your device (in priority order, it's likely to be one of the first 2):

    -1060

    -2563

    -2441

    -3265

    -1434

    -1987

    -1927

    -2047

    -0864

    You can enter these codesets in from TV & OneGuide settings -> Device control -> Cable/sat box -> Enter remote code.

    Hi,

    I'm in US. Cable provider is Time Warner. Cable box is Cisco 8742HDC. I'm having the same issue. Game and console looks great. HD Cable channels look very degraded.

    Could you post the make and model of your tv please. I take it you have your Virgin HD box set to 1080 and your PS3 set to output 1080p in the system settings. Could you check those and if your PS3 isn't set to 1080p try changing that and see if it degrades
    the display quality.

    The Virgin box generally just detects you're using a HD ready tv with an HDMI cable and will then enable you to watch the HD channels, whether it's actually showing full HD I can't say but check what you have the box set to output at please.

    I have timer warner cable and I have a cisco cable box and my Xbox one works with the cisco cable box that time warner installed. The Xbox can power it on off and change channels but it cannot fast forward or pause anything not even DVR stuff or live tv
