vip status

so since purchasing my xbox one an after it was decided to revert everyones vip status back to 0 after the amount of money everyone has paid to increase their status, My question is why after all the games iv bought for my xbox one is my vip status still
on 0 an doesnt seem to be icreasing as it still only a quarter of the way to rank 1 which it has been this way for well over a year an seems unlikly that it should be this low.

Xbox Live rewards rebate issue

As of September 2014, VIP status is no longer based on gamerscore (btw, legend status only have 3% back). VIP status is now based on star levels. You need at least 1 star level in order to receive a VIP rebate.

VIP status is not random, but VIP exclusive offers are.

 

so after reading the faq it now seems instead of a sustained vip rank we now have to spend £1200 every year just to get a 10% rebate which in my opinion is highly over the top an not worth it at all. i used to like the rewards programme i took the surveys
every month an spent a fortune just to increase my rank. but since the change an rank went from 3 to 0 i have hardly bothered an most of the games i buy now are disk copys as the benefits of buying digital arent there any more unless you can afford to spend
1200 every year on games an such which alot of people cant. this has made me highly disappointed in the rewards program as it now seems like just another money grabbing scheme considering the cost out weights the benefit.

You can earn Xbox Live Rewards Credit in two ways:

1. By finishing the offers located on the MyMissions page at
https://rewards.xbox.com/mymissions/ .

-or-

2. For non-offer purchases, you can earn Credits by earning a one star MyVIP level through purchasing at least £200 GBP or regional equivalent of eligible content. After you receive your first star you will begin to earn a percentage of your eligible purchases
back as payback Rewards Credit. Pre-orders, in-game consumables, and subscriptions are not eligible for MyVIP.

In September 2014 we changed to the MyVIP policy. As a result, payback based off Gamerscore (MyAchievements) was discontinued. Also, as of July 2014, we do not award Credits for Xbox Live Gold renewals. MyVIP has a recalibration every year. At the end of
the year, we place you in your MyVIP rank for the new year based off your eligible spending from the previous year, and set your progress to the default state. This happened in September 2015 and December 2016. Since you are a zero star member, you do not
get payback Credits on your purchases. You can check your current MyVIP level/progress at (Xbox Live Rewards). Keep in mind that 1200 pounds is only for the five star rank requirement; the
first star requirement is at 200 pounds.
