I have a quick question, just want to get a clear understanding of the star system for the rewards program. To receive additional stars do you have to spend the full amount or just the difference between stars? Like is it spend 300 for your first star and
then spend another 300 for the second star to make it 600 or is it spend an additional 600 for the second star meaning you have to spend 900 dollars? So on and so on for the 5 stars?

so I should buy the game after its out? Microsoft is stupid if thats the case. level up system is a bad deal then. I was thinking 300 to the next level not a full 900. Microsoft lost their minds on this crap. xbox 360 averaged 10 games per system yet you
need over 30 games to get to five stars? and do it every year **** no

 

Once you reach level 1, you're 50% of the way to level 2. So you would need to spend another $300. The exception is when ranks reset each year. Say you spend enough to reach level 1 before the reset on January 1. You would start the new year at level 1 and
0% progress. You would need to spend the full $600 to maintain level 1 and reach level 2 the next year.

How is my MyVIP Star Rank determined?

Your MyVIP Star Rank is determined by your pre-tax spend amount made on eligible content in the Xbox Store. Your 2017 MyVIP Star Rank is determined by the total amount you spent in the previous year from September 1, 2015 to December 31, 2016, or starting
from the time that you enrolled in Xbox Live Rewards.

Moving forward though, we will recalibrate your Star Rank annually based on your spending in the previous calendar year, from January 1 to December 31. Here are the current spend thresholds for each level, which can also be viewed in our Terms
and Conditions.

Your MyVIP star rank is based off your total eligible spending for the year. So that means you would need to spend a yearly total of $300 for your first star, then a yearly total of $600 for your second star (in other words, an additional $300).
