vip star status

My star status doesn't seem to be changing, it should have been 2 rank 2 by now for I spend close 2 $70 or more dollars a month on games and add ons, how much do you have to spend b4 it goes up a rank a $1000 or more.

I mean dang what does it take I've been rank 1 since it was reset at the beginning of the year.

I thought for every $100 dollars or so you would go up.

It seemed like years ago when this first got started going up a rank was a lot easier for spending money.

Xbox Live rewards rebate issue

As of September 2014, VIP status is no longer based on gamerscore (btw, legend status only have 3% back). VIP status is now based on star levels. You need at least 1 star level in order to receive a VIP rebate.

 

My VIP Status

There was some special about spending at least $150 on games or add on and I will be upgraded a star.

I had made more than enough purchase but my VIP star status remains the same at 4 stars.

I thought I should have been placed as a 5 star VIP.

Please explain what happened.

 

I'm almost sure I've spent at least $400 - $500 by now since the beginning of the year.

Keep in mind that subscriptions, in-game consumables, and preorders do not count towards VIP.

We see that your MyVIP progress is accurate. Keep in mind that MyVIP has a recalibration every year. At the end of the year, we place you in your MyVIP rank for the new year based off your eligible spending from the previous year, and set your progress to
the default state. This happened in September 2015 and December 2016. You can check your current MyVIP level/progress at (Xbox Live Rewards). Also, the first three ranks are $300, $600, and
$900 respectively, as stated in the FAQ.

Additionally, since it seems like you may be unfamiliar with our program, please keep in mind that consumables, pre-orders, and subscriptions are not eligible for MyVIP, as stated in the FAQ:

What content can I earn a % back on purchases for?

Normally, most purchases for Xbox 360 and Xbox One from the Xbox Store qualify towards your MyVIP Star Rank and % back on purchases, including full Games on Demand titles (excluding game pre-orders), arcade games, indie games, game add-ons, game Season Passes,
movies, TV shows, TV seasons, themes and avatar items. In-game consumables, Xbox Live Gold memberships, subscriptions like EA Access and Xbox Game Pass, Groove Music Passes, Microsoft Movies & TV Season Passes, and the purchase or redemption of Microsoft Points
or Xbox Gift Cards, still do not qualify.
