VIP Progress Reset

Before the new year, I only needed to spend $64 dollars to finally get to a 5 star V.I.P. and when it told me to check back on January 5th, it reset my progress. It now tells me I am 0% of the way to 5 stars as opposed to 96% or whatever it was before the
new year. What gives? Is all the money I spent to get more rebates back just gone because of a new year? I hope not and I still only need to spend $64 to finally get my 5 stars.

Some clarification on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

MY VIP Progress reset?

The progress is what resets. You spend money this year, whatever rank you get to is your star rank for the following year. So you were 1 star last year (since you didn't make it to 2 star) and you will keep 1 star this year until you spend enough to earn
2 stars. However much money you spend this year will increase your star rank and you'll have that rank the following year.

That is how they've done it the last 2 years.

Ok thank you or that, The year before my rank got reset back to 0 from 2 stars as anything that was considered a pre order was removed and all my games were pre ordered. Thank you for clarifying that with me. I really hope pre orders count towards VIP Rank
as pre ordering now doesn't really make sense for me

MY VIP Progress reset?

Ranks reset each year, on January 1. You either have to spend the same amount or more each year in order to maintain or raise your star level.

There is no word yet on any changes made to the program in the future.

Ranks reset each year (normally on September 1, but it was extended to January 1 this year). If you did not spend enough to reach level 5 by January 1, you would have been reset.

We re-calibrate MyVIP on a yearly basis. In the past, this occurred in September. However, in September 2015 we received a lot of feedback from members which inspired us to make some changes to the way MyVIP works. We gave everyone four extra months to boost
their MyVIP Star Rank for 2017, and will also be re-calibrating your annual spending by the calendar year from now on to make it easier to track. Unfortunately, since you did not reach the next star rank with your eligible spending from September 2015-December
2016, you remained at a 4 star level, and had your progress calibrated to the default level.
