Villager limit

Hello,

I've been searching the internet and I can't really find anything recent about it. Since most forum posts about this subject are at least two years old, I figured someone should start the discussion again.

Currently there is a world-wide cap of 50 villagers in Minecraft: Xbox One Edition (on all console editions I believe). I know that most of us like to see this removed or raised to a higher limit, but has Microsoft Studios revealed anything about this matter

Villager limit!

Population limits are necessary. Too many villagers would be a huge drain on your world's natural resources. It's just not sustainable. Strict population controls are necessary, or your world would be doomed. Too many people is not a good thing.

Villager limit!

This post is a moan rather than a specific question.

I built a city months ago and was gutted when the last update (before) only generated villagers on new maps.

So I was delighted that at last, with update 9 I could populate my old town that's been sitting waiting for months.

With the new spawn eggs I started filling my 100+ houses with villagers until...'you have reached the limit of villager'.

Damn you minecraft.

Why a limit?

There's no good reason. There's no limit of people on Assassins Creed!

 

honestly i dont see why we need more than 50. I relocated all of mine on a medium map to my main building... kept them all in carts on tracks, and made a flea market around them.... if a villager has crap, kill him and re-breed.

Even if your argument was you wanted an iron farm AND a fleamarket, ive seen some folks make their iron farms where you can access the villagers and buy from them while allowing mobs to spawn.
