Viking Gamerpic Replaced

Has anybody had an issue with Microsoft/xbox automatically editing out & replacing you gamerpic with something else?

I had this close up of a bloody Viking head gamerpic

Now I have a simple Viking with axe made from triangles

What has happened to my gamerpic?

Ok so on the Xbox One and whilst I am signed in on this website my gamerpic is the way it's supposed to be. The black and white Viking face with a blood splatter effect.

But, when I see my posts on the activity feed on the Xbox One and in messages etc, the thumbnail of my gamerpic is instead showing an 8-bit looking Viking man which looks crap.

Why is my gamerpic not showing up as it should do in all places within Xbox Live?

Not sure if it matters but I am currently in the early dashboard update preview program thing.

Sorry you're having issues with your gamer pic. So I've seen multiple solutions that do and do not work for some, so it's hit or miss. First how long is a while? It can take up to 24 hours for it to replicate out everywhere. Another item is doing an Xbox
hard reset, with the xbox on, hold the power button down for 10 seconds (it will quickly shut off), then after is shuts off, power it back on (expect a longer than normal boot time). If that doesn't solve your issue try setting it online. I've seen where the
console didn't update correctly, but then doing it online worked.

Let us know, and hopefully one of these will get you sorted!

 

I noticed that on my friends list on smartglass one guy showed the old pic still. When I click on him to go to the profile the pic is changed to the one you are talking about.

 

I had the same problem, I want to know why....

 

I had 2 friends that had the same thing happen to them. I mean seriously, the gamer pics are awful. They seriously need to release gamer pics with games, shows amd movies like you used to.

 

That's very strange. I would love some new gamer pics and have the old ones updated to fill the gamerpic box on the X 1, I'm tired of the postage stamp size treatment of the classic gamer pics.

 

Yeah i noticed mine had change to a goofy cartoon viking holding an ax !!???

Thought my son was messing with me and changed it ..But really,,whats up with that ,,i had it since day one !

 

I've realised that the avatar gamerpics are the way to go, I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but if you have a cool avatar outfit you can get pretty creative with some of the pics.

I've actually made a variation of the one I use on the forums here with the Agent 47 avatar outfit. I'm actually quite happy with it and won't be changing it unless they bring out some game related ones we can purchase.

I'd like an answer on this. That gamerpic was awesome and now it's been changed to something uber lame, like the rest (with all that weird, pop art esque stuff...).

 

I have been extremely disappointed with the gamer pics. It really needs to go back to the way it was on Xbox 360. Give us new gamer pics with the release of each new game. Imagine some Ryse Son of Rome, Destiny, Watch Dogs, Assassin's Creed Unity, Sunset
Overdrive and Dead Rising 3 gamer pics. I mean what the heck happened

If so, it was actually someone else's work and probably taken down for that reason:

How did you come across that?

I wonder what the story behind it & if he or someone else modified it further to what we knew it as.

Last comments date to 2008 so there is quite a gap.

Seriously the available remaining gamerpics really disappoint.
