Videos won't record at 1080p60.

Hey there,

I want to record some gameplay on PC using the Windows Game Capture, or whatever it's name is. I am facing a problem wherein; even though I am running the game at around 200+ FPS, the recorder would record at 30 FPS and the clips look really bad. My CPU, GPU and RAM usage is also not affected nor there are any FPS drops in the game while recording, but still, the final video would run on 720p (or possibly lower) with 20-30 FPS.

Any fixes/suggestions on how to record the game in a better quality?

Try to set the Xbox Game Bar as High Priority by opening Task Manager > in Processes tab, click the Xbox Game Bar drop-down > right-click the Xbox Game Bar blue icon & select Go to details > right-click GameBar.exe & select Set priority > High.

Otherwise, try to repair or if not reset the Xbox Game Bar via the Windows Settings page, as shown in the link below.

Low capture fps would usually indicate that your system is under-powered as capturing uses a good amount of resources, even more so if you are gaming on the same system.... interesting that your CPU, GPU and RAM are showing no differences. What hardware is on your system? CPU, GPU, RAM and also hard drive

I don't know enough about the Windows Game Capture to comment but, in this position, I'd be trying a different capture program to see what happens as it could be hardware or it could be the software. A good one to use to compare would be something like OBS:

Thank you for your attention.

Yes, I had already applied these settings, the FPS is still around 20 with a lot of stutters instead of the original 150-200 FPS of the game.

Have you set it to capture at 60 frames?

In settings>gaming>captures you can set it to 60 frames and increase the quality to ''high''

Game Capture route. You could go with the Avermedia card if you don't mind opening your PC and have room to add it, however in looking at the specs it tops out at 60FPS output when at a 720p-is resolution of 1280x768. Probably want to take that into account as
your gameplay is going to see a reduction in framerate if you're used to 1080p60.

You could also go the BlackMagic Intensity Pro route if you don't want any pre-recording compression, but be prepared to pick up some high speed storage for recording and editing (think SSD).
