Videos streaming from PC stop and give not supported format error.

Recently I got a new wireless modem.

Prior to the new modem we could stream videos from the PC to the Xbox 360 slim via wireless network using the System Video Player without problem.

Now, we can still see the drive/folders and files on the PC, we can start playing any of them without problem but at some point in the first 10-20 minutes the playback stops abruptly and without warning and the xbox gives an error claiming it may be an unsupported
    format.

Trying to resume playback the videos play for a few seconds then give the same error.

This has happened for every video we have tried so far since upgrading the modem.

The videos are all .MP4 and x264.

    :)

    June update broke "play to"?

    Hi,

I just updated my xbox one and now videos that I used to be able to play from my PC with the 'Play to' option are telling me "media format is not supported". It gives me the same error when trying to 'play to' an MP3!

Has 'Play to' been disabled in this update!?

Media Player error 0xc00d36c4 streaming MKV from PC

I have a number of known good MKV videos. If I put them on a USB stick they play just fine in the Media Player app on XB1. They also play just fine on my Win8.1 PC in the Video app.

If i try to play those same files over my home network, stored on my Win8.1 PC with native Media Streaming feature enabled, on XB1 the Media Player app gives error 0xc00d36c4 "Can't play", consistently.

All my other media formats stream just fine using this same method. Only the MKVs are problematic when streaming from PC to XB1.

    Should this work? Thoughts?

Also on my PC, when I right click the MKV file, I am not given a Play To option.

Videos streaming from PC stop and give not supported format error.

Nevermind this. After more investigation I figured out that a whole batch of videos got corrupted.
