    Video streaming not working but online gaming is


    Video streaming apps including Netflix Vudu and Disney+ are all appearing to be down. Netflix will allow me to play some titles with both audio and visuals however some titles turn to a black screen with only the subtitles appearing a sound goes on. Vudu
    states that there is a video playback error and refuses to play any title and Disney+ simply says that there is a problem I cannot play a title. However I can launch and play red dead redemption two online. Does this suggest that it is not a network error
    in my Internet is OK therefore that it is possibly a hardware issue? I have restarted my Xbox, I have flipped my HDMI cord I’ve also change the HDMI input with the HDMI cord, I have turned off the Wi-Fi modem for 30 seconds and plugged it back in. I have also
    tested Netflix on my laptop and it appears to work so I do not understand what is wrong with my Xbox

    Lag in multiplayer games.

    As the help page I mentioned says that streaming video requires the same latency as online gaming, I will add that streaming in HD from Netflix and Amazon instant video works perfectly.

    The only time it resumes the download is when higher level function of Xbox LIVE are not being used.

    If you are playing an online game or streaming from an online service it should remain paused. The only time it doesn't pause while streaming music or video is when you're using the respective "System Music/Video Player" apps from the menu.

    0.5 megabits per second. Streaming does not utilize upload speeds. The ping should be less than 150 milliseconds for anything done on the Internet. The lower the ping number, the more effective the connection is.

    Anyone else having this problem? If so, PLEASE HELP.

    when my roomate had u-verse we had a similar problem, especially when trying to stream video, as in it didn't work at all. even at its highest speed, U-verse internet isn't so great for online gaming.
