Video output stopped working completely tonight (7/15/2015)

Yesterday my Xbox One was working just fine connected to a 27" Hannspree monitor via HDMI. For my birthday I got a Vizio E50-C1 50-inch LED monitor and was super excited about hooking it up to my Xbox One.

I finally got it all set up, and booted the Xbox One while connected to the 50" Vizio... and I saw only a black screen.

I wound up connecting it back up to the 27" Hannspree monitor... and still, only black screen.

I did a cold boot (held the power button for ten seconds). I reset the video mode (held down eject and power until heard a beep). I verified that it is absolutely not the monitor nor the cable, as I unplugged the cable from the Xbox One and plugged it
into my Dell laptop, and I am watching myself type this on the monitor right now. But the exact same cable and monitor, plugged into the Xbox One, shows only a black screen. Switching the cable back and forth, it reliably works on the laptop and never shows
anything but black on the Xbox One.

It really seems as though my Xbox One just happened to experience some kind of failure that killed its video, right here, tonight. I also notice a few other people complaining about this same symptom today.

In any case, I am going to have to send it in for repairs if there is no other magic way to force a reboot or otherwise reset the console. Very very disappointing, even more so than if the new HDTV hadn't worked :-( (At least that 50" TV also works when
connected to the laptop with the same cable....)

Xbox One HDMI blew out?

Ok apparently my HDMI output on the Xbox like stop working (video wise) I test out the cable to other devices and it works but from the Xbox One? No, it play sounds but I see no video, I was wondering if the video connection or whatever from the xbox just
stopped working? Anyone help or I have to send it for a repair?

 

Slow, stupid and unresponsive Xbox Live Servers

It's Tuesday 12/15/2015 5:35 PM Pacific time and the Elder Scrolls Online is completely unplayable today (was working okay yesterday). I've troubleshooted my console and it doesn't matter what I do.

 

And adding to the joy, I submitted a service request -- and every time I try to print the shipping label, it comes up with a "broken image" icon. This happens in Internet Explorer, and Microsoft Edge, and Google Chrome, on a Win10 preview build. So I can't
even move ahead on sending it back for repair. Exact same problem on my wife's Win8 laptop.

 

(Got the repair label problem sorted out, xbox online chat support very helpful. Sending it for repair tomorrow....)

 

Um... sorry. Please delete this thread. We cut the cord years ago and have never had a cable box, and I completely forgot the Xbox One has *two* HDMI connections: HDMI in, and HDMI out. Guess which one I was plugging the cable into.

Once I got my head out of my butt and my cable connected to the HDMI *out*, what do you know, everything was fan-freaking-tastic. New HDTV is gorgeous
