Video Issue

Curious if anyone could help determine what may be the specific issue with an Xbox One I have, it survived a house fire and functions like normal aside from the video displayed. I can see no physical damage to the internal components and have tried different
HDMI cords that work on my new Xbox One.

Not sure if this would fall under Support or Discussion.

Video shows almost like a loose VGA cable where the video is multicolored and distorted.

To answer your question sM4llziE, it isn't in a compact space. There's enough air getting to it. The only thing it has is my slimline PS2 on it (because in my room there's hardly any space to put both consoles in), but I doubt that would cause it because
ever since I've had my room re-arranged (which was last year in October), the xbox has been running fine.

But I'll try fixing it when I get home. Just hoping it isn't broken >.<

You could try lowering the resolution the console is running at. So if you get screen tear at 1080p, try dropping the setting down to 720p.

 

I suggest doing the update if you haven't already. Then, a few questions:

- Does it look the same when the Xbox is connected to another TV?

- Do you see the distortions elsewhere in the menus, or even games?

- Are you part of the Insider program?
