Video games in other media.

Has a video game ever translated well into a movie, TV series or book to you?

I kinda liked Halo forward unto dawn. I halo legends wasn't bad but I don't really like Japanese animation too much.

I'm hoping that the new halo series Is good. I am reading bioshock rapture and it's pretty good.

Also has anyone here saw the 2 dead space movies? Are they worth watching?

I think that a video game can't do to. Nither should other media should do at all too. It make it fair too all creators in all media type in the world.

Double LOL @ people who wanted a media player and bought a video game console and then come on to internet forums to complain that the video game console wasn't quite the media player they wanted it to be.

 

There was one decent Mortal Kombat movie but I would have liked it better if it had a big budget .

D&D cartoon... not a video game before but in my head!!!

There were a ton of video game cartoons back in the day... Space Ace, Donkey Kong, Pac Man, Super Mario Bros, Sonic The Hedgehog, Dragons Lair, Double Dragon.

Resident Evil movies were good and so was Doom.

 

I thought the first Silent Hill movie wasn't that bad. The second one... well not so much.

 

No movie has ever done a video game justice. Eventually it will happen. Bioshock maybe? Or Fallout? I'm surprised Activision hasn't sold the COD film rights.

 

I'm still waiting for a Bioshock movie...

I heard Ubisoft was considering Splinter Cell.

JUST SAY NO TO CLOONEY. You forget, he can't act. And I believe Tom Hardy is playing Sam. I wish he weren't - he's ok but not really for this role. But what I really wish is that Michael Ironside would ADR the voice... that's almost most important.

 

The first MK was probably the only decent game-to-film. Even then, it had it's issues.

Low on health, Dude Really???? Your saying Mortal Kombat did NOT have a big budget??????? Really???? It sucked because it was not done well.... Budget had nothing to do with it.... They spent thousands and got back hundreds.

Res Evil was decent except the story line had nothing to do with the game......

Tomb Raider is the obvious counter to your opinion..... but, even that had flaws.

House of the dead....... That's a decent example of suck all around

Games based on movies however have no redeeming qualities except the pay check....

OK Cars was fun
