Video + Audio Freeze on cable tv passthrough

my audio and video freeze for 10-15 seconds off and on repeatedly when i try to watch tv with my cable passing through the xbox one. This just started today and has not been an issue since november. It is not the Cable box or feed itself as when i have
it directly hooked up to the tv there is no freezing issue. Can someone please help????

I am having the exact same issue. Doing HDMI passthrough from my Comcast X1 box to the XB1. picture freezes. Also there is no audio. I reset the cable box video out put to 1080p/60 and surround audio. This does not make any difference. The cable works fine
going directly to my TV or receiver. Issue only presents itself on the XB1.

Hi, I dont think the tv is the problem. Since I got the HDMI cable (for both audio and the video signal) connected to the receiver, the receiver has "HDMI Passthrough" so it grabs the audio from the hdmi in, and sends the picture through to the tv. The model
is a Marantz NR1402 by the way.

Turning the TV on and off wont help , altough the xbox does display a hdcp link restored message when i switch input channels on the receiver, this doesn't fix the sound.

I would suggest trying a new hdmi cord. However you could reset up the TV app and this tends to help. I had a similar issue and that fixed it. Hope this helped.

 

The current workaround is to power cycle Xbox one everytime issue occurs. Until Microsoft can figure out what is going on with this issue.

 

Was this issue ever acknowledged and fixed? I gave up on using HDMI passthrough a few months after XB1 first came out. The video+audio would freeze every couple of hours. There have been many nonsense theories here that have become
the "accepted" answers (lower my TV resolution? never!, different HDMI cable? all other devices work fine).

Wondering if it's worth the trouble to crawl under my entertainment furniture and move the cables around.
