very painful machine, just updates instead of playing.

What have they done to x box one? Just bought new machine for my kids and all it does is update and even games have to be loaded to the hard drive and then they update. What were they thinking? Well Im going to take it back and try and get a refund and go
for a different machine.

Noob, no ME experience....

Don't get too attached to the story or characters however. It just makes the end of Mass Effect 3 that much more painful.

I'm not being entirely serious. The first two games are really, really fantastic, and the third one's very good. But, as of now, the ending is... painful and inadequate.

Here it is Feb 2016 and still not fixed, getting really frustrated. It seems like xbox/microsoft don't care. Most of the time this piece of crap is a very expensive paperweight, how hard is it to fix this and update, I am disabled and it is extremely painful
to have to unplug everything just to friggin watch tv

 

Then you'll find you'll be equally disappointed as Sony's current offering does exactly the same thing.

You could wait for a Switch but if the rumours are anywhere near the truth then you won't be playing the triple A titles you want on it.

At least with the PS4 the updates and installs seem to be much quicker. I don't know what MS has been doing to **** off so many people this Xmas, but there are not dozens of threads like this on the PlayStation forums like you see here.

What rumors? Maybe I've missed something, but everything I've seen has said devs and publishers are very happy with Nintendo's latest hardware.

 

Well not so much rumours, all but confirmed, but as the console isn't out yet I am being charitable to Nintendo.

They are using Nvidia's Tegra X1, a last generation mobile chip. It's CPU and GPU are also going to be underclocked when docked and run at just 40% capacity when in tablet mode (a necessity for battery life).

So they are coming in with a system that doesn't match the base Xbox One or PS4 in terms of performance even if it were running at full power. So the developers are going to have essentially three versions of a game. One for the Pro and Scorpio, one of the
base systems, and one slightly more gimped to be able to run on the Switch. Then for a fourth task they are going to have to make sure the title runs decently when the Switch is undocked.

Developers said the same thing about the Wii U they are now saying about the Switch and we all know how quickly third party support dropped away from that system.

 

Here is my guess: A bunch of the more casual (i.e. consumers that don't pay any attention to any gaming news or gaming blogs) xbox 360 owners are finally jumping on the xbox one wagon. However, they are making their purchases blindly, with little (OR more
likely NO) research prior to buying. They all think it will be the exact same experience as the 360. They were wrong. Now they will blindly go buy a PS4, only to find out that you can't play a game directly from disc on that machine either. Less complaints
on the playstation forums because everyone already has a PS4.

 

Sony does the same thing. However its better to have a system update and games update to offer better performance. No matter what system you buy
