VERY DISAPPOINTED.

I am the owner of an Xbox 360 slim.

I have had my Xbox live account for 8 years as it says on my profile.

I have owned multiple Xbox consoles in this time, and through those consoles i have had many Xbox errors just due to wear and tear etc.

Now, i have seen the fabled 'Red Ring of Death' on a couple of consoles and the repair was ALWAYS free, i once had a disk tray error and was quoted £45 for the repair, however a week or so later the 'RRoD' popped up and they fixed it for free.

So imagine my anger when contacting Xbox Support today, for the 360 Slim, which bare in mind, they said that it would not get the RRoD, Why? Because it gets something different the RED DOT OF DEATH. they replaced it with a dot, but hey, there's no red ring
is there.

They quoted me £62 for this repair. its extortionate. i pay £40 a year for my Xbox subscription, that's already £320 for online services.

Plus the £600+ that has been spent on consoles over the years and they charge me half the price of a new 360 to fix something that was always free. Why because they have a new console? Extortionate money grabbing from one of the richest companies in the world.
NOT A HAPPY CUSTOMER.

it is a standard computer power chord, turn off you desktop computer and use it

The fixing of the red ring of death has never been free on out of warranty consoles.

The original 360`s were given 3 year warranties to allow for the red ring issue, your`s must have fell within that period.

The slim consoles only get the standard warranty given at the point of sale as the red ring issue is no longer classed as a common problem due to new hardware inside the console.

Any electrical product you buy has a limited warranty, why would xbox be any different?

 

And how old is your slim?

If it`s out of warranty you can`t expect to have a repair done for free.
