Very Bad latency @ 193 while on Fibre Network

I have terrible experience it’s like every Jim and Jack looks better in playing online games like Fifa 22.

Am on a 200MB download and 200MB upload fibre network, am based in South Africa 300Km to Johannesburg.

I have attached a picture for a better explanation. It’s a bad experience. How do I improve the latency? I was told that it’s Xbox or Microsoft’s job to resolve this problem. I have done everything friends were advising. My ISP even sent a technician to check, and they have done all tests. They indicated that the issue is with the Microsoft server am connecting to. I change the console but still the same challenge. It is now just under 2 years experiencing this problem. Can someone out there assist me, or this is what I have to live with it.

The latency test you are doing in the Xbox Settings is just for testing, which connects and performs a ping test with the Microsoft Store servers in the US. That latency isn't the same that you should see/have while playing, but if you have a bad experience while playing (especially FIFA 22), which would most likely connect you to players in Europe, then it would be necessary to check with EA, given that the game servers are EA's servers. Do you have a similar issue with other games, like Rocket League or Fortnite? (which are free games, and show allow you to test this for free)

The latency shown on the network tab is not an accurate reading to in game latency. The number shown is the ping the Xbox One gets trying to ping the Xbox servers in Redmond Washington, for gaming however your Xbox pings the closest server available so you
can just neglect the ping on the network tab.

You can't know it to be correct as its simply not:-

BT's core network - Fibre

Virgin's core network - Fibre

BT's connection to the premises - Copper or Fibre (depending on locations, mostly copper)

Virgin's connection to the premises Coax or Copper (depending on locations, mostly coax)

I'm not talking about speed, never was, you were saying BT doesn't have a fibre network and you are incorrect. Both providers have a core fibre network with fibre reaching out to the street cabinet (BT) or to the node (Virgin)

And the reason Virgin can boast better speeds via cable is because coax is much better for data, it has nothing to do with fibre (as there is none to the premises with Virgin)

Once again, read the very article you linked to. They very clearly explain what their measurements are. Hint - it isn't just network latency.

Ok so i tried changing the settings and when on automatic I get just below 20mps download and 1 upload latency 162. When changing onto the American codes I get just over 30download and 2.16 upload same latency..... I have virgin media fibre optic.
