Vertical Lines on Screen with new Xbox One S

I just got my new Xbox One S last night and I need some help. There are vertical lines on my screen any time it tries to play a video or moving image. They are there during the green Xbox logo startup screen and various other places. I used the Twitch
app and the lines are only displayed on the video and not on the border or the chat. I have tried hard resets, different HDMI cords, and different TVs. Also the number of lines seems to increase based on the quality of video. I noticed the number increase
as the Twitch stream increased in quality.

Thanks guys, I found I had another HDMI cable lying around, so used that, and it seems to have worked for the moment!

Hi, After about 5mins to half an hour in, when playing a game, I get these green/blue vertical lines on screen, but when I reset the Xbox, all is well and I get a perfect picture of the home screen page. It's certainly not the HDMI leads, as I can play
TV episode from a USB stck without any interference. If anyone out ther could advise me please, I would be so grateful. Thank you

 

Does anyone else have this problem or know of a potential fix? I would hate to have to return it and not get a replacement for a while. (On a related note, if I bought it on Gamestop.com, could I return it and get a replacement at a store?)

Thanks for posting! That's definitely an odd one, thanks for providing those pictures! Based on the information you've provided in the post, such as trying different TVs and cables, the Xbox One S console may need to be replaced.

Before jumping to a replacemde nt, let's try some of these steps out:

• Navigate to 'All settings' from the Xbox One guide.
• Scroll down to 'Display & sound' and select 'Video output' and ensure everything is properly set up.
  
• If the issue persists after you've verified everything is set up properly with your TV, my next recommendation is to
  
  Factory Restore your Xbox One console and select Reset and remove everything.

Alright. So, I tried a partial reset and then a full reset (remove everything) and neither helped. I think I am going to have to return it and get a new one. Do I send it to Xbox or Gamestop?

 

I have the exact same problem. Everything works fine except any video playback. Xbox say I have to send it back. Any ideas how to fix it?
