    Vertical Lines On Screen With HDMI


    Got my Xbox One yesterday, excited to play it and then I see these strange and very annoying vertical lines all over the screen. It doesn't make games unplayable but very irritating. I tried multiple HDMI cables, including the one that comes with the console,
    and no luck. This doesn't happen with my PS3, so I've come to the conclusion this is the console and not my TV as it's only the Xbox One that does this. I've tried practically every setting in the display options, and have found that lowering the resolution
    to SD get's rid of the lines, but who wants to play a next-gen console in standard quality? Not me....

    Any help would be really appreciated.

    Turned my xbox on and green and purple vertical lines are on the screen can anyone tell me what is happening I've reset my xbox and changed the hdmi port

    Thanks guys, I found I had another HDMI cable lying around, so used that, and it seems to have worked for the moment!

    Is TV HD Ready or Full HD?

    Which resolution does your games use?

    Tried different games?

    It seems it might be scaling of TV-device to the requested resolution that create unwanted distortion - dithering or stretching.

    If any friend of yours have an X1, try his unit on your TV - it could be you TV that has a bug in the algorithms for resolutionstretch.

    Is there an auto-setting of resolution and also request capabilities from TV, not force a resolution?

    I only have 360.

    I had a similar problem with my HDMI cable. When I would plug my turtle beach adapter into the back port next to the HDMI port, after awhile it would make these weird lines in the screen and I would have to reset the xbox for it to go away. All I did was
    literally turn the cable around and plug it in the other way and it went away for good. This might not be your problem but I agree, I would try swapping out the cable with a friends first to see if that fixes it. If it does, go buy a new one. I recommend Amazon
    because they are the best on price and quality. I would also try to switch to the standard SD cables if you dont have another HDMI as this would at least replicate not having that HDMI plugged in.

    Could be something in the HDMI path. Might be worth swapping out the cable. If that doesn't help, the dedicated GPU memory is going bad and there's nothing you can do about it.

    Im getting these Vertical Lines on a brand new tv while playing games

    Hey Rostom. I tried 2 HDMI cables and they both also seemed to do the same thing where it shows the vertical lines.

    I also play call of duty and I saw the lines.

    Which hdmi cable would work for a 4k Tv but doesn’t support 120 FPS?
