Venting My Frustrations with Xbox One and Halo: MCC

Im really annoyed at Microsoft, I took peoples advise on here to sell my Xbox One and get a PS4 because Halo: MCC wasn't working, and im a HUGE Halo fan.

Anyway I get the PS4 home, put the Halo: MCC disk in, and it still doesn't install, how can this be? I paid good money for Halo: MCC and it doesn't work on both consoles arghghg!!!

Obviously I'm joking when I say all this, that's basically a response to all these people saying get a PS4, if someone really likes the Halo franchise, getting a PS4 aint going to solve the current problems they are having will it.

 

OP you mention your internet is fast.. but how fast?? I mean if your ISP states 30/20 and you are on WIFI in a house that has many connections connected to that service... PCs, Cell Phones, Laptops, Tablets) guess what... ?? you are no longer getting those
speeds..

My speed, I can DL a good size game in about 15 minutes... is it as fast as it would DL the same file on my PC?? not even close... but I do did expect it to be..

 

@Shaggy - do what most of us are doing - ignore them. Only an idiot would suggest buying a PS4 while reading X1 forums. Pity them for they have no games to play

 

Downloading a game fully before being able to play can be a bit frustrating and I was not initially prepared for this when I bought my console, so now when I get home from purchasing a game I make sure I pop it in the console straight away to start the downloading
process, go and have something to eat and it's normally done within the hour.

@ Firstrespond3r - I've had my X1 now for nearly 8 months and have not know it to freeze up once yet, and am not aware that this is a common problem?

@ sANurA1008 - are you saying that you couldn't delete a single game and were prompted to delete all games on your harddrive? If you go to games and apps, highlight the game you want to delete and press the start button (or whatever it's called now) it gives
you the option to uninstall just the single game that you want.

 

I'm in the same boat. Bought the same AC bundle for MCC. Tried to sell the two AC codes for $50 since I don't play them. That was a fail. Can't comment on the download speeds though I let it do it's thing overnight. kind of bummed I don't see any of the
remastered maps from Halo CE Anniversary.

 

I feel your frustration OP.

I'm at 120 down on good days and download speeds are sooo slow.

I don't know what's going on with that.

 

XBL is slow. I had to update Netflix and it took 30 seconds to download a 55mb file. It really should only take a few seconds for 55mb. Downloading a 40gb game on PS4 takes half the time it takes to download the same size file on Xbox One.

 

^^^ Xbox L is slow, but the Netflix update definitely didn't take that long for me.

My internet is more than adequate. Steam is consistently fast. PSN is consistently fast. XBL is sometimes fast and sometimes slow.

XBL is no longer the best place to be for online gaming. PSN is king now.

 

Obviously if it took your Internet 30 seconds to download a 55mb file, then to me it's not 'adequate' enough.

Let's not go overboard and blame XBL for all the problems in the World.

 

In regards to internet speed, if the utilities on the XB1 itself are telling me that I'm getting around 40 Mbps down, then I think that should be pretty adequate. The connection my XB1 has to the internet is fine, end of story. XBL has had all sorts of problems
this weekend, from matchmaking to stores to apps. Yeah, I get it, there were some big launches, but this wasn't a SURPRISE. They knew well in advance and should have been prepared. As a consumer, it is my responsibility to expect decent service, experience,
and value for the money I spend. End of story.

I'm stoked for all of you that haven't had a problem. But considering the MASS amount of issues that are being reported in the press, this isn't just one guy *** on a forum. Your experience does not equal the average experience at this point.

Listen, I love Halo, clearly. I can understand some minor hiccups like spelling errors or achievements not unlocking correctly or physics problems or whatever. But at a fundamental level, I should be able to play the frigging game when I get it. It's been
days now, and I've still yet to be able to get into a multi-player game, which is the main reason many people bought it. THIS IS A PROBLEM.

And for those of you suggesting that a return my XB1 and get a PS4: If this isn't resolved by Friday, I will, gladly. Halo is great, but I'll save the $600 and play something else if it means all of this frustration. Hope you're listening, Microsoft.

 

I wouldn't worry about it too much at this point. MCC is incredibly popular on the Xbox machines, and those servers are getting pounded. I remember GTA 5 being a mess for a week or so after launch for similar reasons.

I'm not sure what to make of your slow downloads. I've never had anything take that long. But with Digital copies, you usually have to wait for the entire thing to finish before it works. With disc copies, after a certain percentage, you can play single
player content, but usually not the online until the install is complete.

 

Just throwing this out there too, why does it kick you out of the lobby after a game? Like it just sends you back to the menu.

 

I have to laugh, Cod Aw had a 155mb (psn) Update in Sunday and it took me 5 minutes to DL. It was running at 30kb/sec, It's just overloaded. It just seems to be completely random on both services for me. My day 1 xb1 took less then 8 minutes to setup with
updates, Powerstar golf took ages, Like I said, it's just been random for me. Location may be 1 of the causes?

 

i bought my xbox a year ago and have had three or so of each xbox console i have no troble with any games but the new halo it has nothing to do with cone tion i am so mad and upset when i open the xbox paige today and they are advertising the master cheif
destruction like it is all the halos added together but better and with more All the halo games were way more user friendly mostly because you could use them! I have been a microsoft and xbox supporter for over a decades and they are misleading there corner
of the market place. Everyone ought to be able to get there money back from this halo abomination. I have never owned a playstation or apple product but when i see microsft pretending it is great and selling it instesd of apoligizing and refunding it looks
like my loyalty may have been misplaced and my next surface will be an ipad my console will be a sony i should at least give them a chance if microsoft is more intested in having friends at 343 than customers that can count on quality products and truthful
statements. I never thought i would even concider a playstation and up to a few days ago shouted the xbox greatness from the rooftops and if they don't start moving in the right direction on this i am afraid the concole war is over there support is telling
you to spend more money for a better conection when they should be refunding the money u spent on a game that doesn't play i have t3 and i can't get it to work and every other game i has does that isn't a cone tion problem its a sure way to loose there most
loyal supporters ..... end rant i hope i can feel different tomorrow... i hate playstation i don't want be buying them
