Ventilation Message on Xbox 360 E

I've been looking around the forums and the web for information on the ventilation issue for the Xbox 360. Seems that the system shuts down to prevent over-heating, which is nice, but I'm not sure why my xbox is doing it. The fans aren't blocked and air
flow seems ok. The only thing I can imagine is maybe the fans are working as well as they should.

About once a day I get the error, the system shuts down, and I let it rest for a bit. Then I turn it back on and everything is fine. The ventilation error happens the first time I start playing a game and then its ok after. I don't think it's over-heating
and my first thought was maybe the last system update messed something up since it started happening after that.

I've tried cleaning off the best with compressed air and plugging the power cable directly into the wall, but that hasn't solved it. I still have my warranty to mid January, so I was thinking about sending it in for a repair. Is there anything else I can
do? I was thinking of taking out the hard drive and then putting it back in to see if that does anything or maybe doing a factory restore in case the software is the problem.

Has anyone else with the 360 E been having this issue?

Sorry to hear it. However, this thread is well over a year old. Would you be able to create a new one detailing your issue for further assistance? Be sure to be very specific about the issue itself.

 

I just did a test playing Peggle. It did do it again, but the xbox only had a faint trace of heat. Tried taking the hard drive out and putting it back in before the test. Didn't do anything. Definitely doesn't seem to be over-heating.
