How do I fix the ventilation issue? I have followed all the suggestions it offers on the error message and have left it off for days but when I turn it on the message is the first thing that comes up.

I assume your console has a lot of breathing room around it. Putting it in a confined space can cause overheating.

If it's overheating and you have a lot of room around it then maybe there is a fault. Are the fans still working?

Have you tried getting a vacuum cleaner and using the pipe attachment to suck dust out of the vents?

I recommend you get in touch with Xbox support if you've followed all the steps mentioned above. It is possible that your device needs to be looked at for repair

The reality of it may suck, but you need to get the console serviced. When stuff like that happens it tends to really be the only thing you can do.

I've had overheating issues lately too, similar to yours. You just gotta stick to doing the officially recommended things, man.

    Xbox Ventilation Issues

If it's a Xbox one X check that the ventilation holes on the sides aren't blocked with dust and grime.

My area is quite humid and dusty. Grime accumulates in the holes which eventually blocks any airflow.

I use a vacuum cleaner to clean mine every other month.

Turn the console off and disconnect power before vacuuming to prevent any static electricity discharge.

Set up xbox console has a section you can read about positioning the console for maximum ventilation.
