Various Xbox Apps unable to connect on PC (Error 0x80072F8F)

Alright. So I used the following command in Powershell to get rid of the Identity Provider:

Get-appxpackage Microsoft.XboxIdentityProvider | Remove-AppxPackage

Did a full reboot afterwards and reinstalled the Identity Provider with the provided link but I am still getting the same error message.

I will try to go through the list of questions and answer them to the best of my abilities.

1. What is the Windows 10 Edition, OS Build and version of your PC?

Windows 10 Pro x64, Build 19042.1586, Version 20H2

2. Is this a personal or work/company-owned device? Also is this custom-made?

It is a personal device and has been hand-built by a friend of mine.

3. Was there a Windows update or new application installed on your device within one month?

There have been a few Windows Updates during the last few weeks. But none of them happened during the appearance of the error.

The only application I installed shortly before the error occured was the game Forza Horizon 5. No other apps, programs or games have been installed on my system since.

4. Do you have any antivirus, antimalware, VPN, firewall and PC Optimizer installed in your PC?

I do have Avast Antivirus set up on my system. As for firewall I am using the firewall which is provided by Windows itself. The rest of the mentioned applications are not existant on my system.

5. Are you experiencing issues with other apps installed on through Microsoft Store? How about games installed from Xbox apps?

No. It is only Xbox related apps that are having the issue. Namely Xbox App, Xbox Console Companion, Xbox Accessories and Xbox Game Bar.

And I don't really have any games that are installed from Xbox apps themselves. The only game that I play which uses Xbox Live currently is Forza Horizon 5 which is installed through Steam.

You could first try to change the network you are using, try using a hotspot mobile to connect your Pc, most phones allow you to do this either trough Wifi or USB

On Windows 10, go to Settings > Gaming > Xbox Networking.

If you’re on Windows 11, open the Xbox Console Companion app, select Settings, and then select the Network tab.

Look for Server connectivity

I was hoping you might be able to help me. I have this same exact issue and error code and I have tried all the steps Naraku did, except I got it when my Xbox companion on PC just quit streaming to PC. As a last resort I uninstalled it, but when I went to reinstall, it would not download and gave me this error message and code already posted. However, the first time I got it was last week when I was trying to update windows with automatic update and the update service failed to connect to Microsoft. I was able to manually install the latest update for my Windows but still the auto update would not run. This is beyond frustrating for as this is actually preventing me from working with a client and losing out on a job!!

Please help me if you at all can!
